Mike Hill Predicted His Marriage To Cynthia Bailey Would Not Last Amid Divorce Filing!

Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill are parting ways after less than two years of marriage, but loyal Real Housewives of Atlanta fans might not be surprised.

The couple posted a joint statement on social media Wednesday, sharing that a mutual decision was made after determining that they had grown apart. 

“LOVE is a beautiful thing. While we both will always have love for one another, we have decided to go our separate ways.”

“No one is to blame and we are grateful that we remain good friends. We will always cherish the many memories we’ve shared together as husband and wife.”

“Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning, and we appreciate our family, friends and beloved fans for your positive support as we move forward and start new chapters.” 

“Thank you for your prayers & well wishes!”

The couple met in 2018 while on Steve Harvey’s talk show, and their romance was documented on RHOA. The couple wed two years later in an extravagant ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia. 

The breakup confirmation comes amid rumors claiming that the duo actually separated months ago. Fans recently noticed that the former RHOA star had changed her last name in her Instagram bio, but Cynthia, 55, rocked her 5-carat engagement ring in her most recently posted photo.  

On Tuesday, entertainment reporter and friend to Mike, Kevin Frazier, confirmed that the pair had been apart for several months.

Frazier tweeted, “@ItsMikeHill and @CynthiaBailey10have been separated for a while, several months, and have already filed for divorce. Nobody cheated, NOBODY is MISBEHAVING, it just didn’t work out.”

Mike, 52, revealed that there was trouble in paradise shortly after the couple celebrated one year of marriage.   

“Sunday was our anniversary, and then I took Monday off and had to go back to work on Tuesday. We basically stayed in town and went to this great hotel that’s in town in West Hollywood, and we just chilled, went to dinner, and enjoyed each other’s company,” Mike said during a January 2022  interview with Behind the Velvet Rope. 

Mike went on to share that the weekend did not end on a good note and that their marriage was on shaky ground. 

“But I’ll say because we are also very transparent… yeah we argue, and I’m going to tell you right now that Sunday was great [but] that Monday, I was like, ‘We might not make it to year two,’” Mike said. “Because it was just something that happened, I don’t go too far into our business — it was nothing malicious. It was just a misunderstanding. A lot of times, it’s just communication.”

He added—“But we enjoyed each other. We quickly got over it.”

In October 2021, Mike was hit with cheating rumors after being accused of sending flirty messages and nude photos via Snapchat to a Twitter user.

The couple denied the allegation and Mike even threatened to take legal action, at the time.  

Cynthia left The Real Housewives of Atlanta after appearing for 11 seasons, citing a desire to “protect her marriage.”

“After going through my divorce with my ex [Peter Thomas], I’m very protective of my second marriage because, you know, I really want it to work, and I want to do everything that I can to protect it and to protect Mike,” she told Page Six, at the time.
