Kathy Hilton Explains Why She Exploded On Kyle Richards During The Aspen Cast Trip!
Kathy Hilton exploded on Kyle Richards during a cast trip to Aspen which led to a feud with her sister and she’s opening up about the drama.
Kathy Hilton, 63, spoke candidly in an interview with People about the rumored feud with Kyle that led Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne to pounce on the fan favorite.
The Season 12 midseason trailer shows Kathy experiencing a meltdown, in which she made insensitive comments directed at Kyle. Kathy explained where the sisters stand currently, “We’re great,” she told the outlet.
“You know, I had said some things out of frustration that I was feeling personally,” she continued, explaining how she had also been exhausted and hungry at the time.
She does own up to making harsh comments in the heat of the moment, “some things that I should not have said,” but they have since resolved their issues.

Things got so heated between the siblings that Lisa Rinna stepped in to arbitrate the escalated tension, as seen in the midseason trailer below.
“I just want to know where that hatred comes from,” Lisa said as Kyle appeared distressed. Kathy clapped back, “You can be very unkind too.” Press play to watch below.
Kathy commented on Lisa Rinna intervening, “I think that she cares a lot about Kyle, and I think that she cares about me, and I think that she just wanted to help out,” Hilton shared. “… Hopefully everybody has good intentions and it works itself out. But I did apologize to Kyle. Sisters do go through things.”
She added: “I learned.”
Kathy also clarified where she stands with her other sister, Kim Richards.
“That is a rumor I would like to clear up — Kim and I have never had a problem,” she said. “I mean, like all sisters, we’ve had a little something here or there … but we get along VERY, VERY well.”
Kathy had previously explained that she “never” considered joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, until Kyle convinced her to sign onto the show.
“I never would have thought I’d say yes to this,” she told People. “I stopped watching it after the first season. My sister Kyle and I had our ups and downs so it was nothing that I wanted to watch. But Kyle convinced me to do it. And I was flattered. I thought it would be an opportunity for us to spend time together. I really missed her.”
As previously reported, Kathy Hilton threatened Lisa Rinna with legal action after the Aspen cast trip and reached out to her husband, Rick Hilton, to come rescue her from the mountain.
