Leah Messer Talks Going to Rehab for Depression and Anxiety “I Needed Help” #TeenMom2
On Monday (April 18), Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer, got all choked up discussing her stint in rehab during an interview with Steve Harvey and Dr. Drew
“It took me quite some time to know whether I was gonna go or not,” Leah, 23, explained. “I’m from West Virginia, and everyone that I was around didn’t quite support me going away. They didn’t think it was good.”
Leah struggled to compose herself for a moment, then continued on. “I knew I was suffering from something. I didn’t know what it was. I just knew that I was suffering and I needed help.”
Thankfully, Leah, who is mom to three girls, twins Aliannah and Aleeah, 6, and Adalynn, 3, entered a 30-day program last summer amid rampant accusations of having drug problems. Her treatment was documented for season 6.

Leah said she was focused on an “anxiety and depression track” during her stay in rehab. And it was an eye-opening experience.
“Not even six months ago, I probably never would’ve seen what I see now … in terms of how stressful it was, and painful,” Leah shared. “Doing it the right way and being able to have that platform to teach girls to do it the right way, that’s what matters to me.”
Teen Mom 2 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on MTV, and the Steve Harvey Show airs weekdays (check local listings).
