Yolanda Foster’s Costars Suspect She’s Suffering From Munchausen Syndrome – Read The Warning Signs! #RHOBH
The cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has questions, and Yolanda Foster isn’t happy about it. Taylor Armstrong was the first to call Yolanda out on her strangely showy struggle against Lyme disease, and tonight, Lisa Rinna, Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards join in, raising their eyebrows in unison.
The women approach the subject of Munchausen syndrome, while attempting to figure out what is going on with their friend. Yolanda was angered by Taylor’s comments, later blasting her opinion as “ignorance” in her blog, so how will she react to the other women using the “M” word? In an exclusive preview clip below, the ladies mention Munchausen syndrome, a mental disorder in which someone falsely believes he or she is physically ill.
The condition is a strange one, but to any regular viewer, the warning signs will seem all too familiar. There is little doubt that Yolanda will be seething, but most will agree that the questions are fair ones.

Munchausen syndrome is defined as, “factitious disorder, a mental disorder in which a person repeatedly and deliberately acts as if he or she has a physical or mental illness when he or she is not really sick. Munchausen syndrome is considered a mental illness because it is associated with severe emotional difficulties.”
Sound familiar? Check out a few of these top warning signs, and see if a certain lemony ‘Housewife’ comes to mind.
Dramatic but inconsistent medical history
Yolanda Foster has a flare for the carefully posed dramatic…just peruse her Instagram account. She has come under fire by viewers for appearing normal one minute, and on death’s door the next.
Unclear symptoms
Foster’s symptoms seem not controllable and that become more severe or change once treatment has begun
Predictable relapses following improvement in the condition
Yolanda has sought expensive treatments around the world, and her condition only appeared to worsen with every passing sickie-pic. Improvements haven’t often been noted, but crippling relapses were routinely shot into the spotlight.
Presence of symptoms only when the patient is with others or being observed
A Bravo reality show, and a solid social media following during the off-season have given Yolanda a large audience. Let’s not forget last week, when Yolanda was caught on camera, playing possum when Lisa and Eileen arrived for a visit.
Willingness or eagerness to have medical tests, operations, or other procedures
As Foster has stated many times, she would do or try ANYTHING to heal herself, “If someone tells me to swallow bark, I would do it,” Yolanda states on an episode of RHOBH.
History of seeking treatment at numerous hospitals, clinics, and doctors offices, possibly even in different cities
Enough said.
In order to keep up the appearance of having an illness, someone with a factitious disorder may exaggerate or fake symptoms, harm themselves, or tamper with medical instruments or tests to manipulate the results of an examination, according to the Mayo Clinic. Of course, this can be harmful in that someone feigning an illness could potentially make him or herself actually sick, which could even lead to death.
Other warning signs include appearance of new or additional symptoms following negative test results, and problems with identity and self-esteem. The exact cause of Munchuasen syndrome is not known, and researchers continue to explore biological and psychological factors. Diagnosing Munchausen is extremely difficult, evidently because of the dishonesty involved.
No one likely knows if Foster is struggling with Munchausen syndrome, however Yolanda’s own behavior has invited the questions. Viewers only see snippets, but her friends and family have seen much more.
Kyle Richards seemingly backs up this assertion in a live interview with “Entertainment Tonight” in November,
“A lot of the things she’s gone through and the treatments she’s done, for some of the cast members they were questioning exactly what she was doing and exactly how sick she was. It was not a good situation,” she said. “Some things came up that made some of the Housewives question exactly what was really going on.”
How do you think Yolanda will react to more of the cast doubting her illness?
