Kylie Jenner Slammed for Wearing RACIST Noose Necklace  

Kylie Jenner’s fashion choices continue to turn heads at Paris Fashion Week. Only hours after shocking the public by appearing at Monday’s Schiaparelli Haute Couture show wearing a realistic-looking lion headdress, the beauty mogul stepped out in a noose-inspired necklace by Givenchy. 

The necklace debuted amid a flood of criticism in October 2021 as part of Givenchy’s spring 2022 line. Kylie wore the necklace with a stretchy bright blue dress and sparkly pink boots by the same designer.

Fans sounded off on Reddit about the 25-year-old’s controversial look.

“Even if you took out the racial history of a noose, there’s the suicidal side of it. It’s wrong in so many ways,” one person wrote. “This woman has black children. This is so disgusting. It’s not ok to just say ‘she probably doesn’t know’ – she needs to know.”

Another chimed in—“Wearing this two years after [it was shown on the runway], when her stylist knows how people felt about it…is a CHOICE. A really gross one.”

A third added—“I had a close family member commit suicide by hanging themselves. So its a bit triggering on a personal level … I dont [sic] view this as fashionable at all.”

Some users advised Kylie to brush up on her black history, but many pointed out that the influencer may have chosen the piece to cause a social media uproar. 

One person wrote—“I think she’s intentionally wearing things that will make headlines … she is doing it to be incendiary.”

Twitter also lit up with opinions about the designer accessory. One person pointed out that the mom of two was “so out of touch.”

Givenchy did not back down to public backlash after debuting the piece in their Spring 2022 collection. The fashion house told the Guardian at the time—“The house do not have an official response on this.” 

Burberry responded differently after the brand drew similar feedback in 2019 for showing a hoodie with a noose at the neck. The company removed the look from its collection and apologized for being “insensitive.”

Kylie’s designer misstep comes two months after her sister, Kim Kardashian, was slammed after photos of her 9-year-old daughter, North, wearing a strange leather face mask resurfaced amid the Balenciaga BDSM scandal. North was photographed alongside her mom wearing black and white polka-dotted pants, an oversized black t-shirt, and a leather mask that hid her entire face. 

The blowback came only days after the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum confirmed that she would not be ending her relationship with the fashion house, despite the company’s release of an ad campaign that featured children holding teddy bears in bondage gear. One photo included documents that pertained to a Supreme Court case that ruled on federal laws relating to child pornography.
