‘The View’ Fans Call Out Sunny Hostin for “Trying Too Hard” in New Cast Photos

Fans of The View have been calling out Sunny Hostin for “trying too hard” in newly released cast photos. 

The 54-year-old panelist posed for pics alongside her co-stars during the chat show’s Christmas special. Sunny rocked a metallic gold skirt with a sexy thigh-high slit, a matching gold top, and a festive headband. Alyssa Farah Griffin appeared in a red feathery minidress, Joy Behar chose a silver romper, and Ana Navarro opted for a black dress. Whoopi Goldberg kept it sporty with a holiday hoodie and Sara Haines wore a silver minidress. 

The show shared the new photos snapped during their holiday festivities on Instagram, and fans were not shy about chiming in with their opinions. The special featured performances from Darlene Love and Andy Grammer.

Some viewers loved Sunny’s shimmery ensemble, but others thought that her look was a bit much. 

One fan wrote—“Joy looks really nice and Sunny always trying too hard.”

Another added—“Yeah I found her outfit a bit jarring.”

A third chimed in—“Sunny with her ‘mall’ hair. Bahahahahahahahahahahha. She’s having a MID-LIFE CRISIS.”

The show is on hiatus until after the new year and furious fans sounded off about the unannounced break on social media. On Monday, The View aired a repeat episode filmed on November 10.

Alyssa appeared on a competing network earlier this week, co-anchoring a CNN show with Sarah Matthews, Olivia Troye, and Stephanie Grisham.

Sunny has made headlines in recent weeks, after sharing snippets of her personal family life on the show. 

The co-host caused a stir when she shared that she makes her surgeon husband, Emmanuel, wear his wedding ring outside his hospital scrubs so everyone knows he’s taken.

Sunny revealed the marriage arrangement, which some viewers called “weird,” during a debate over whether or not married people should always wear their wedding rings while on the job and while working out. 

Sunny explained — “Manny’s [Emmanuel] excuse early on was that as a surgeon he had to scrub in every day. So he had to take off [the ring] and then he’d walk around the hospital all day with no ring… with the nurses.”

She continued — “So now he ties it to his scrubs so they can see it hanging.” 

A couple of days later, the lawyer called her 20-year-old son “stupid” for dating an older woman. Sunny told viewers that she spotted her son on a date with a woman who appeared much older than him, before running her off. 

Sunny fired back after Whoopi told her co-star to stay out of her son’s dating life.

She said—“No. Oh No. Some 40-year-old woman that wants a 20-year-old stupid kid like mine got a lot of issues.
