‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Accuses Christine of Manipulating and Taunting Him During Their Marriage

Kody Brown reveals he was manipulated and taunted by his ex-wife Christine during their marriage on Sunday’s Sister Wives tell-all reunion, airing on December 18.

Christine Brown became Kody’s third wife in 1994 and she shares six kids with him. But in November 2021, she announced her decision to divorce her ex after a difficult few years.

Christine’s decision to depart from the family turned the Brown clan on its head and exposed deep-seated anger and resentment from Kody towards his third wife.

“Initially, my issue was, I thought Christine was playing a game,” Kody tells tell-all host, Sukanya Krishnan, during the tell-all special.

Kody Brown then confesses he was  “ambivalent” about Christine from the beginning of their marriage.

Kody recollected a time when he considered reconciling with his estranged first wife, Meri Brown, and Christine had a complete meltdown and went off on him.

“Some of the games that were happening, were things like when we moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, I was trying to reconcile with Meri,” Kody reveals to the host.

Meri gave me this really cool birthday present and I’m in this place, telling Janelle, Christine and Robyn that I might reconcile with Meri.” He explains.

As Sister Wives fans know, Kody and Meri Brown have been estranged as a couple for years before they legally divorced in 2014. Though they remained spiritually married, Meri’s catfish scandal was the final nail in their marriage.

Meri Brown was entrenched in a 6-month affair with someone whom she believed to be an international business tycoon in his early 40’s, self-identified as “Sam Cooper.” “Sam” illustrates his identity only by a half-faced photo. “Sam’s” real identity is believed to be that of a woman named Jackie Overton. Overton is allegedly a prolific online scammer, who maintains multiple social media accounts, and seeks out vulnerable personalities to score various goodies.

Kody’s distain for Meri was on full display throughout the years and in Season 17, Kody gave Meri his blessings to leave the family and find another husband.

Christine “lost her sh-t” at a family event after finding out that Kody was considering giving Meri a second chance, according to Kody.

“She comes to a family party [that day] and leaves yelling to one of the kids that she was in a loveless marriage,” Kody says on the special. “This is two years before she kicks me out.”

Kody Brown claims Christine was upset that he was “trying to reconcile with Meri.”

He also asserts that “there’s something wrong in the relationship between Meri and Christine.”

Sister Wives

For Christine’s part, she denies ever coming between Kody and Meri’s relationship.

During the tell-all special, Kody admonishes Christine for was always “comparing” his four relationships but ironically, Meri, says Kody was the one making comparisons. Meri says Kody made comparisons between wives all the time, and she feels this is what led to the demise of all his spiritual unions.

“I thought that was really not cool [of Kody to compare us],” Meri admits in the upcoming tell-all special.

“I totally get Christine’s reaction. No husband should ever, ever, ever compare one wife to the other.”
