Cynthia Bailey Reveals She’s Received Support From Ex Peter Thomas Amid Split from Mike Hill!
Cynthia Bailey has revealed that her ex-husband, Peter Thomas, reached out with support amid her breakup from current husband, Mike Hill.
“Peter reached out to me,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum told Page Six at BravoCon, over the weekend.
“He said he just wishes me the best. He told me I was a queen and that I deserve the best, so that was really, really nice,” Cynthia, 55, shared.
Cynthia and Peter were married for seven years before finalizing their divorce, in 2017. The show documented their wedding and regularly featured the couple for several seasons.
Cynthia began dating the sportscaster in 2018. They wed two years later, in an extravagant ceremony featured on Cynthia’s final RHOA season. Cynthia moved to Los Angeles after leaving the show to pursue an acting career. She divides her time between California and Georgia.
Cynthia is currently caring for her mother, Barbara Ford Morris, who is recovering from lumpectomy surgery after being diagnosed with cancer, earlier this year.
Cynthia and Mike, 52, announced in a joint statement that they were calling it quits just ahead of their second anniversary, on October 12.
“Our relationship and our marriage came with a lot of big transitions. I basically moved to a different city, a different house, started a whole new career at 55 years old. So that was all a lot of stress for me,” the model said, noting that other factors also played into the couple’s split.
“I think there was some incompatibility. We’ve always been, for the most part, in a long-distance relationship and that’s not easy,” she explained.
She also joked that she could blame her hormones for the marital discord.
“And I wasn’t always a pleasant person to be with. I’m in full menopause at this point, so I’ve got a lot going on!” she laughed. “Listen, this menopause is no joke. It is absolutely no joke.”
Cynthia expressed uncertainty when asked if she was excited to begin dating again.
“I don’t know yet. I haven’t been single that long,” she explained. “I just honestly stopped wearing my wedding ring with the announcement because although we were going through some things, it was important to me to honor my marriage all the way until the end.”
She added — There’s still a friendship there. I have so much love and so much respect for my Mike and our marriage.”
The former Bravo star also expressed appreciation for the outpouring of support from fans during the BravoCon weekend.
“I’m actually loving the timing of all of this because Mike and I put out our statement and then I literally got on a plane and came out here,” she said.
“And I have just been lifted up in a blaze of glory since I got to BravoCon. The fans are amazing. I love all the hugs and the kisses. They are behind me 100 percent, so it just feels really good.”
