Bravo revived an eyebrow-raising snippet of one of Jen Shah’s past interviews for the Season 3 premiere of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The admitted scammer bragged about making “millions” in the Season 1 interview.

“What I’ve done for the last 20 years is direct response marketing. I make millions,” the Bravo star boasted in a confessional spot filmed on December  9, 2019.

“Hey, you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do for money. I’m like the Wizard of Oz.”

The first two minutes of Wednesday’s premiere contrasted the present day to three years ago for Jen and her co-stars, Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, and Whitney Rose.

Jen’s fraud case will be covered this season on the Utah-based reality show. The series documented Jen’s March 2021 arrest, during Season 2.

“Our time is coming. I just can’t lie to you,” Jen’s husband Sharrieff Shah Sr. tells her. “This is a test for all of us.”

Jen admits that the ongoing legal battle has been a rough ride.

“I want to f–king kill myself and just not be here,” she says in the sneak peek, later adding— “Everything’s been taken away from me. Everything!”

Jen claimed that she “got played” by her former assistant, Stuart Smith, in the Season 3 trailer, released earlier this month. The preview offered a peek inside the upcoming season and the months leading up to Jen’s guilty plea.

“I got played by Stuart Smith,” Jen tells co-stars, Heather Gay and Meredith Marks. “I would not be in this thing at all if it wasn’t for Stuart.”

Stuart and Jen were arrested in March 2021 and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Stuart changed his plea from not guilty to guilty in November 2021.

The indictment alleged that Jen and Stuart were involved in a “Business Opportunity Scheme,” which involved marketing services that would supposedly boost performances and profits of their alleged victims’ companies. The partners were accused of predominately targeting the elderly.

The season will highlight footage of Jen leaving the courthouse after pleading guilty in July. Her sentencing is scheduled for November 28. The Bravo star faces a maximum 14-year prison sentence.

Danna Bui-Negrete

Season 3 cast members, Jen, Meredith, Heather, Lisa, and Whitney will be joined by newcomers, Danna Bui-Negrete, Angie Harrington, and Angie Katsanevas.

Heather and Meredith appear to remain in Jen’s corner throughout the legal drama. The duo traveled with their co-star to New York City for her court appearance, less than two weeks ahead of her scheduled fraud trial.

The sneak peek revealed Danna telling Whitney that she knows someone who used to work for Jen who is now acting as an “informant.”
