‘Shahs Of Sunset’ Star Mike Shouhed Hit with 14 Criminal Charges After Domestic Violence Arrest!
Shahs of Sunset alum, Mike Shouhed, has been charged with 14 criminal charges, including domestic violence, after being arrested and jailed, last March.
Mike, 43, was booked at 1:05 am on March 28 and charged with a felony charge of corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. The Bravo star posted a $50k bond and was released at 6:35 am, according to court records. Authorities did not provide a description of the alleged victim.
Los Angeles City Attorney, Mike Feuer, charged the former Bravo star with multiple misdemeanors, including battery and unlawfully attempting to dissuade a witness from making a report. Mike is also facing gun-related charges, including criminal storage of a loaded firearm and possession of an assault weapon. The former reality star faces more than 10 years in prison if found guilty.
Mike entered a not guilty plea at an arraignment earlier this week, to two counts of domestic violence, four counts of domestic battery, and two counts of intimidating a witness. He also pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of an assault weapon, two counts of criminal storage of a firearm, two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
Mike’s pre-trial hearing is scheduled for August 29.
Mike’s fiancée, Paulina Ben-Cohen, later identified herself as the victim of the domestic incident. Her attorney, Joshua Ritter, addressed the charges in a statement, on Tuesday.
“Paulina’s primary focus is on keeping herself and her children safe,” the statement read. “She supports the work that the police and the City Attorney’s Office have done and she continues to cooperate with them, while looking forward to putting this sad situation behind her and moving on with her life.”
Bravo canceled Shahs of Sunset the week after Mike’s arrest. Sources told Page Six that the series had become “too expensive to make.” Another source claimed that the reality show “ran its course.”
Mike and Paulina began their relationship in 2019, and are reportedly still together. The couple took a trip to Mexico after the March incident but resort snitches told TMZ that they barely spoke to each other during the getaway.
Mike and Paulina announced their engagement in August 2021 after weathering a separate scandal.
Mike was accused of sending risqué texts to another woman while he was in a relationship with his future fiancée. He confessed in May 2021, after initial denials.
“We were going through COVID, being on lockdown, and I let the anxiousness of going through that and just being bored allow me to do things I shouldn’t have done,” Mike told E! News at the time.
He added—“Looking back, I feel really stupid for allowing myself to engage in that conversation, even though those text messages were for a few hours and one day that those messages happened, reliving it now feels like … like it was going on for a long period of time.”
