‘RHOD’ RECAP: LeeAnne Locken Bullied and Mocked In Thailand By Kary & D’Andra!
Welcome to Thailand, Thailand, where everyone gets a baby elephant. This week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Dallas opens with the ladies arriving in Thailand but not before a long flight filled with Xanax and face masks. Doesn’t sound so bad, to be honest.
Day one of the Thailand trip kicks off with an abundant in-room breakfast complete with various breakfast fare AND pad thai all planned by hostess with the mostess, Stephanie Hollman. Kameron Westcott takes a moment to go over the etiquette rules the ladies are to abide by while in Thailand. According to Kameron, the rules are: 1) Respect the king. 2) Respect elders. 3) No teasing/joking. 4) No staring. 5) No whispering. 6) No fighting in public. Something tells me the probability of one or all of these ladies getting thrown into a Thai jail is pretty high.
After breakfast, all of the ladies head back to their hotel rooms to get ready for their first day in Thailand. D’Andra Simmons reveals to Kary Brittingham that she brought LeeAnne Locken’s famous L’Infinity Dress all the way to Bangkok. If you’re not familiar with this dress, it’s claim to fame is that it can be worn 175 different ways with just a few simple attachments. D’Andra says that she bought the dress to support LeeAnne but also admits that she thought it’d be funny.
Kary Brittingham confesses that she’s not sure how Leeanne is going to take this, but Leeanne did refer to her necklaces as “anal beads” so fair is fair. In the words of RHOC’s Heather Dubrow, “this may turn things into DEFCON 4.”
Once everyone is ready, the ladies head out for a day of sightseeing and Tuktuk rides. First stop, Wat Pho Temple. Unfortunately, the peace and tranquility of the temples are not rubbing off on the ladies. Kary Brittingham and LeeAnne butt heads right off the bat as LeeAnne repeatedly reminds Kary to take her hat off before entering the temples. According to Leeanne, she didn’t want to be disrespectful to the culture.
Tensions continue to rise as Kary Brittingham criticizes LeeAnne Locken for never traveling outside of the United States and calls her stupid for buying a souvenir Kary deemed overpriced.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Real Housewives episode without a psychic or fortune-teller to really stir the pot. This particular fortune-teller hits the nail on the head when it comes to D’Andra’s relationship with her mother, her financial problems and her affection for a cocktail or two. All of the alcohol talk prompts LeeAnne to ask Kary if she’s going to be D’andra’s drinking moderator. This comment doesn’t sit well with Kary and she promptly tells LeeAnne to quit talking. YIKES.
Back at the hotel, Brandi Redmond catches Stephanie up to speed on the latest regarding her heart-wrenching decision about Bruin’s sibling. She tells Stephanie that she and Brian did find out that Bruin’s biological mother is for sure pregnant and the new child does share the same father as Bruin. Stephanie asks Brandi if she can handle another a baby and Stephanie seems unsure. Brandi jokingly tells Stephanie that she should adopt Bruin’s sibling. Or was she joking…?
Kary Brittingham and D’Andra are back in their room having a field day while trying to figure out how to get D’Andra into the L’Infinity dress. In the midst of the chaos, they even lose some of the snaps on the dress. According to Kary, her four c-sections were easier than trying to get that dress on.
Meanwhile, the rest of the ladies are left at dinner waiting for Kary and D’Andra to arrive. Kameron texts asking their whereabouts and they explain that one of them has had a “wardrobe malfunction.” LeeAnne Locken’s quick to point out that it’s probably D’Andrawith the malfunction but I’m willing to bet once she saw what she was wearing she’s probably wishing she had been wrong about that.
Throughout the course of dinner, D’Andra Simmons and Kary are like dogs with a bone relentless to let the conversation about the dress die down. LeeAnne manages to keep her cool until she finally storms from the table in a tear-filled rage. Brandi comes to LeeAnne’s defense accusing D’Andra of picking on LeeAnne.
D’Andra insists that she brought the dress to surprise her but none of the ladies are taking the bait. Kary doubles down and accuses LeeAnne of being dramatic and says that she should be able to take it since she can dish it out to her all of the time. She also expresses her displeasure with Brandi for defending her before storming from the table herself.
This week’s episode goes out with a Bang(kok) when LeeAnne makes some comments about Kary’s behavior related to her ethnicity, much to Stephanie’s dismay. Next week things between LeeAnne Locken and Kary Brittingham do not appear to be getting better.
Until next time…
