NeNe Leakes Honored By ‘Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies’ For Her Cancer Advocacy Work!
NeNe Leakes was honored at the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies’ annual Mother’s Day Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Thursday. The organization presented her with their “Woman of Achievement” award for her cancer advocacy work.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared the following video below on Instagram from the event, “I was honored yesterday in Beverly Hills with the “Woman of Achievement Award” presented to me by The Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer and John Wayne Cancer Institute for my work as an advocate and a caretaker! I am and was honored to be recognized by those who truly care and understand the impact this disease has on families #fuckcancer,” she captioned the post.

The event benefits the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Burbank, California. The organization has raised millions of dollars for cancer research since its launch in 1990.
As fans know,NeNe’s husband, Gregg Leakes’ cancer battle put a strain on the couple’s marriage, which was well documented on season 11 of the Bravo hit. NeNe admitted to considering a second divorce from her husband.
Gregg recently celebrated completing three months of chemotherapy but his fight is not over. He asked family, friends and fans to support him as he underwent body-scans to determine if his cancer has returned.

NeNe Leakes’ husband was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in June 2018, after spending more than two weeks in the hospital. His cancer battle was well-documented on the Bravo reality series.
