Ramona Singer regrets making a “thoughtless” comment about Dennis Shields’ during Wednesday’s episode of the Bravo reality show.
The Real Housewives of New York star said, “How smart could Dennis be? He was on drugs,” in the episode that was filmed less than a month after Shields’ death.
Shields, the on-again-off-again-boyfriend of fellow Real Housewives of New York costar, Bethenny Frankel breaking down over the death of her on-off boyfriend Dennis Shields, while unexpectedly meeting someone new., was found dead of an apparent drug overdose at his Trump Tower apartment on Aug. 10, 2018.
The New York Medical Examiner’s office categorized the 51-year-old’s death as “undetermined” because an autopsy was not performed, citing a religious objection on the part of his family.
Before the episode aired Wednesday night, she offered an apology to Frankel and the Shields family. “I cringed when I saw what I said about Dennis in tonight’s episode. It definitely wasn’t one of my finer moments,” Singer wrote on Twitter and her Instagram Story. “I respected and liked him very much and I sincerely apologize to his family and Bethenny for my thoughtless comments.” She tweeted on Wednesday.
