Southern Charm Star Thomas Ravenel Feels Like Ashley Jacobs’ Sugar Daddy
Southern Charm is winding down y’all — and this week’s episode begins by mmm — hmming us over to Craig, who’s frustrated about his flopped badass pillow venture. Craig talks his failure into a delusional success, before Bravo jumps us over to Shep’s redecorated bachelor pad.
Cameran arrives for a postpartum filming opportunity, just in time to help her pal cook up some meatballs. The blind is leading the blinder, so Cameran slings a not-so-subtle website pitch, while Shep plays the clueless home cook. Shep livens up the promo with a sexy apron, while molding meatballs the size of softballs. Cameran notices that Shep has gotten doughy, but Shep points out that at least he’s sober. Shep’s butt crack makes an appearance, killing appetites throughout the viewing audience. The duo struggles through the overwhelmingly simple recipe, Cameran giddy to be free of her darling parasite for the evening. The scene is Southern Charm fakery at it’s finest, but Shep and Cam are always cute together, even while stirring up a batch of sponsored food poison. We hear gossip about Austen forcing Craig to make out with a stranger, against his will. Shep continues to sell a genuine Kathryn connection, while Cameran snarks about Craig’s girly side.
We set a spell at Patricia’s next, the matriarch greeting Thomas, who’s popping in for a visit. We hear about Patricia’s formal finale shindig, and an upcoming cast polo bash. Patricia dishes about Ashley’s whiney diatribe, and Thomas listens intently to her advice, agreeing that his honey needs to get off her skinny butt, and get a job. Thomas’ bank account is Ashley’s whole world, and Patricia declares that Thomas needs to get a grip, and decide if this gold-digger is a keeper.
Bravo Reprimands Thomas Ravenel’s Girlfriend Ashley Over Blaming #SouthernCharm Editing For Bad Behavior!
Kathryn meets up with Shep, to inhale corndogs, dodge diving birds, and chat about life. A budding romance is a hard sell, but Shep is genuine when he shares concern about Kathryn’s recent disappearance. Kathryn explains that a crash off her anti-depressants was behind the episode, adding that it’s upsetting to be labeled a relapsed junkie. Shep encourages her to keep her friends in the loop, even in the hard times. Kathryn shares that she feels less than worthy of anyone’s friendship, and Shep’s response is comforting and kind. Kathryn believes that her depression kicked in after Kensie was born, and that isolated plantation life kicked her postpartum butt. She isn’t sure if the polo outing is a good idea, because it might stir up the old nightmare.
In this week’s who-cares segment, Austen meets up with Chelsea, informing her that Victoria wasn’t keen on his decision to squeeze-spin an old girlfriend. Victoria is proven a Bravo dunce, because she tossed a drink at Austen OFF camera — always a reality no-no. Austen will not accept her ultimatum, and is thrilled to hear that Chelsea’s love life is also in the dumps. Chelsea’s wallet loves being single, but she admits that Austen is a real friend. They decide to attend Patricia’s Winter Wonderland event as a faux couple.
A shopping jaunt with Chelsea and Naomie is next, and a surprise guest is along for the ride. Naomie rescued a paralyzed kitty named Rocky, who’s diapered and gnawing on her purse. The gals shop for polo spectator wear, while Naomie shares her concern over Kathryn’s return to her old stomping grounds. Rocky lightens things up when he tries to latch onto his adopted mommy — but the giggles don’t last. A banjo ditty intros our first look at Ashley, who’s driving to Brookland Plantation with Thomas. Thomas tells the camera that the honeymoon is over, and explains that he sought fame and fortune to attract the “right” kind of woman. Say what?
The couple checks out the horses, while Thomas shares some parting thoughts about the perilous sport he adores. Ashley basks in the natural beauty, humming the wedding march under her breath, wrecking the sentimental farewell. Thomas, after recoiling in horror, confronts Ashley about being a whoring moocher, hoping to change the “energy” of the relationship. Ashley fires back, calling her groom a raging partier. Thomas is disgusted by her insecurity, and suggests calling the whole thing off. Ashley passes.
Back in Charleston, Kathryn and Danni are getting ready for the polo party, as Kathryn’s nerves begin to kick in, remembering life back on the plantation. The guests begin to arrive at the locale, and everyone looks spiffy. Shep reveals that Kathryn is sliding her way back into Pat’s good graces, and that she scored an official invite to the ball. Shep pitched the new and improved Kathryn to Whitney and Pat, which evidently did the trick. The match begins, and the horses are lovely.
Ashley mercilessly buries Shep in TMI chatter, jabbering and complaining about her complex love life. She tosses out a proposition for him to serve as a backup reality beau, and Shep’s jaw drops, before blankly shooting her down.
J.D. busts onto the scene, as Kathryn and Danni arrive. Kathryn greets Thomas, and Bravo later walks us back to Southern Charm Season one, when Thomas and Kathryn were brand new parents. Meanwhile, Ashley rants and raves about her tortured romance to anyone who will listen, as the group moves to the next phase of the party. Kathryn finds closure in the familiar setting, as Naomie stuffs herself at the buffet.
Thomas, Craig and J.D. sit down to shoot the breeze, and Thomas shares more about his sugar daddy struggle. Craig busts Ashley for coming onto him, before asking Thomas if he’s sick of supporting such an expensive motormouth. Thomas assures his Southern Charm friends that he knows to keep his eyes open, to avoid stepping in heart-shaped landmines.
Thomas and Kathryn share a moment, and Kathryn points out a people-pleasing pattern in Thomas’ life. Thomas and Kathryn agree to keep things cool, while purposely ignoring Ashley’s steely glare. Kathryn is pleased that she’s no longer the biggest psycho in the group, and the mature conversation is refreshing.
Ashley corners Thomas for a debriefing, and dramatically declares that
due to Shep’s rejection, she wants to fight on, in the harrowing battlefield of love. Thomas looks less than enthused, but weakly agrees.
The Southern Charm finale explodes next week — don’t forget your popcorn!
