Meri canoodled with an online catfish last year, a woman named Jackie Overton, posing as a wealthy, 42-year-old dream man, named “Sam Cooper.” Meri has denied that there was any sort of affair, infidelity, or end game to leave Kody, and the family.
Meri, 45, exposes herself in this footage—and is busted jumbling her words, and contradicting herself, in the shade of Kody’s glares.
Meri explains away her dozens of proclamations of love to host, Erica Hill.
“At the very beginning, this person was fun, funny, just good conversation,” Meri says. “At first, it was kind of cool just to have that companionship, I guess. I cared about who I thought she was portraying him to be because I have a trusting heart and a loving heart.”
Hill asks if Meri felt that she was crossing a line, based on the vows that she took, in her marriage.
“I didn’t know what was going on and what was going to happen, and I actually told this person,” Meri tries to sell. “I said, ‘I’m not crossing any lines — that is not me, and I will not do that.’ So the feelings that I had were confusing.”
Meri assures Hill that although she was confused, she most definitely knew her love-boundaries. Meri’s expression says it all—she tries, but knows that she can’t explain the scathing evidence. Dozens of released voicemails tell a different story — one of a reality star begging for passionate love and attention, desperate to get out of a loveless, polygamous marriage.

Kody was half in the dark about the seriousness of Meri’s cheating heart — but his gut suspicion during the period, were spot on.
“Where I was, in the end, in that scene where Meri says ‘I gotta do something, I need a break,” Kody explains, “I thought she was saying ‘I need a break from this marriage.”
Meri Brown needs to work on her poker face. Tune in to the finale Tell-All episode, at 8 p.m. ET.
