EXCLUSIVE: Kathryn Dennis Reneges On Joint Custody Deal With Thomas Ravenel — Emergency Hearing Expected! #SouthernCharm
As exclusively reported, Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis are battling it out in a South Carolina court, over custody of their children, Kensington Calhoun Ravenel, 2, and St. Julien Rembert Ravenel, 7 months. Some major new developments are unfolding in the ongoing legal drama, between the two Southern Charm stars.
The former couple is scheduled to appear in a South Carolina courthouse on June 27, as part of their ongoing custody battle. The proceeding is slated to be a standard hearing, to review the next steps in the temporary custody consent order, brokered on June 9th. Their objective was to finalize the custody agreement via mediation, and get a sign-off from the judge. You can read all about the June 9 court proceedings here. AllAboutTheTea.Com has exclusively learned that Thomas Ravenel’s attorney will request an emergency hearing with Judge Dana A. Morris, at the scheduled June 27 session.

The emergency request comes in the wake of Kathryn’s failed drug screenings, revealed on June 9. The failed test, which was requested by Kathryn’s own attorney, proved to be a major development in the case. Kathryn tested positive for marijuana, cocaine and opiates, and Thomas tested negative, for drugs and alcohol. The results gave Thomas joint custody of the two young children, and immediate physical custody. The custody about-face, which rendered Ravenel the more fit parent, led to a granting of unsupervised joint custody to Ravenel, and supervised joint custody to Dennis.
We have now learned that Kathryn is supposedly balking at the court’s decision, and has reneged on the mutually agreed upon stipulations, outlined in the agreement. “Kathryn changed her mind on everything she agreed on,” a source close to the case relayed to AllAboutTheTea.Com.
Dennis has also allegedly stopped communicating with her current custody attorney. This non-communication presents another problem, because Kathryn is currently on her fifth lawyer in this case. Kathryn has displayed an erratic pattern of firing attorneys, using ridiculous claims that the pros are paid off by Thomas.
The following custody conditions were established in the June 9th consent order, mutually agreed on by Thomas and Kathryn.
- Thomas was granted unsupervised joint custody of the two children, Kensington and St. Julien.
- Kathryn was granted supervised joint custody — Thomas agreed to allow Kathryn’s parents to supervise her time with the children.
- Custody will be split 50/50, with each parent alternating a week of custody.
- No drug use will be permitted.
- No paramours are allowed between certain hours in the home of either parent.
- No abuse of prescription drugs will be permitted.
- No drinking alcohol is allowed.
- Each parent MUST refrain from any alcohol or drug use, 12 hours prior to picking up the children for their designated week of custody.
Monday’s hearing should result in one of two likely outcomes: Kathryn’s lawyer may ask for a continuance, or the judge will render a decision in the case.
If Kathryn fails to appear in court on Monday, June 27, she will be held in contempt, and a warrant could be issued for her arrest. Stay close, as we follow the story.
