Leah was under fire a couple of months ago, when All About the Tea was tipped off to alarming conditions within the home of the single mom. A neighbor captured photos of Messer’s garage, piled feet deep in junk, triggering rumors that the MTV mom was living in squalor.
“Leah is bats**t crazy,” our source commented. “She lives nearby, and she’s way more of a hot mess than she shows. The other day, she was walking a puppy with her youngest, and her daughter [Adalynn] just squatted and peed in the yard!”
A network insider even dished anonymously that Leah’s home was littered with dog poop, old food, even bloody tampons. Viewers have seen bits and pieces of Leah’s sloppily kept house, but early season exposure appears to have triggered higher standards — at least on filming days. A neighbor also claimed that Leah lied about breaking up with boyfriend, T.R. Dues. Leah’s daughter told her father and Leah’s ex, Corey Simms, that Dues was still living in the home post-breakup — which Leah denied. The neighbor stated last March.
“Her boyfriend that she’s been supposedly broke up with is still living with her, and he is such a loser,” the source alleged. “They were filming last weekend, and he left while they were there.”
Some now believe that Leah worked to secure her new home, to escape the eyes of the nosy neighbors. Leah has been dogged by rumors alleging ongoing drug use, lazy parenting and poor housekeeping. Corey and Leah’s custody struggles have been featured on the show, an issue that might have played into Leah’s decision to make an address change.
