Prison Wives Club! Phaedra Parks Advises Teresa Giudice How To Conduct Herself As A Prison Wife

Teresa Giudice‘s husband Joe Giudice, left his family behind to begin serving a 41-month prison sentence for fraud on Wednesday.
Luckily for Teresa, one person familiar with having an incarcerated husband is fellow ‘Housewife’ Phaedra Parks and she’s volunteering advice,
“I would just say to anyone it’s a tough situation. You will get through it,” Parks, 44, tells PEOPLE. “She seems to be a very independent woman much like myself, and she adores her children just like I adore my boys.”
Parks‘ soon-to-be ex husband, Apollo Nida, is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence for bank fraud and identity theft in the same prison as Joe Giudice, Fort Dix Federal Prison.
“I would just say conduct yourself with class and dignity and realizing that everyone is on a journey, and her journey is her journey,” she adds. “Her truth is her truth, and you can’t let anyone distract you from the end goal – that’s raising beautiful, successful children.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star released a statement through family attorney James J. Leonard Jr.,
“Joe Giudice surrendered himself to the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix today at 12 p.m. to begin serving his sentence. His brother, his sister and several other members of the Giudice family, as well as myself, were present when he turned himself in to the prison, including Teresa. It was obviously a very emotional day, but this is a very strong family with a tremendous support system and they will get through this, just as they did when Teresa was away.”
The 43-year-old father of four will use his time in the slammer to detox from alcohol,
“I’m looking at it like rehabilitation for me,” he told PEOPLE. “I am not going to be able to drink for a while which is good because I don’t even know when it’s been since I haven’t had a drink. It’s been a long time. Definitely the whole year I definitely drank every day couple bottles at night just to go to bed.”
