Teresa Giudice’s Lincoln Park Home Scheduled For Sheriff’s Sale; Teresa Is “Doing More with Less”
Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa and Joe Giudice are “focusing on doing more with less,” according to their lawyer, James Leonard.
This arm-twisted mindset is evidenced by the announcement that the couple’s modest Lincoln Park rental property, is scheduled to hit the auction block on March 31st. Leonard commented to NJ Advance Media that the couple is not contesting the “investment property” foreclosure, and just like their Manahawkin foreclosure, labels the move “eliminating excess.”
The three bedroom house was purchased in 2005 for $170k, and where the family lived while the massive expansion of their current Towaco home was underway. The Giudices moved into their renovated monstrosity house in 2008, around the same time as filming began for RHONJ.
The Lincoln Park property was rented between April 2009 and January 2012, and prosecutors claimed that the collected $42,968 in rent was not disclosed in the Giudice’s initial bankruptcy filing. Just weeks before the couple’s October of 2014 sentencing, they tried to unload all three of their homes, listing the Lincoln Park property for $179k. The properties didn’t sell, and were pulled from the market as foreclosure proceedings initiated by the lenders kicked in.
The Giudices owed roughly $348k on the Manahawkin home, and last August the property was sold back to the lender for $100. As reported, the couple was able to bring their mortgage up to date on their Towaco residence, in October. The couple owes $212,521.20 on the Lincoln Park home, and Zillow estimates the market value at $245,536.
Joe Giudice will surrender in March to begin serving his 41-month prison sentence.
The couple sits buried in debt, bills which include a $551,563 federal tax lien. “Doing more with less,” is an on-point objective, but not convincingly delivered from the driver’s seat of a shiny new $90k SUV.
