#RHOD RECAP: Cary Deuber Makes Peace With LeeAnne Locken After Bullying Her!
The Real Housewives of Dallas are back!
Welcome back to The Round-Up!
Let’s dive right in shall we? On the season three premiere of The Real Housewives of Dallas, Brandi Redmond is in total bliss over her new addition to the family. She and her husband Bryan, have adopted a 2-month-old baby boy named Bruin. Brandi informs viewers that from the moment she held her son, she fell in love and the rest is history. Brandi’s struggles with fertility were documented last season.
Stephanie Hollman and Brandi’s friendship appears to be on track again after the two made up last season. We learn that Stephanie texted her pal, “out of nowhere” about adopting a baby with green eyes and red hair, just like his mama. While Stephanie knows (obviously) about the adoption, Brandi is keeping Bruin a secret from the rest of the ladies, for whatever reason.
Next up, D’andra Simmons accompanies LeeAnne Locken to a meditation session at a Dallas yoga center. LeeAnne has put the knives down and picked up peace — Thank you Jesus! Through the help of a man named, David Sunshine, with Woodstock-esque sideburns, LeeAnne’s on a mission to manage her temper. She’s determined to modify the ‘amygdala,’ part of her brain, “I’ve learned recently that there’s a place in your mind called the amygdala,” LeeAnne tells David Sunshine. “And if you are abused or tortured as a child, it grows exponentially. So my amygdala takes any, any threat and just won’t tolerate it.” D’Andra plays supportive friend to LeeAnne’s face, but snarks about her “peace mission” behind her back: “If she finds peace, she may not wanna cut a b*tch, gut a b*tch, punch someone out… we can only go up from here, right?” D’Andra says sarcastically in a talking head confessional.
Across town, D’Andra and her hubby Jeremy, are planning their annual fancy wedding anniversary party and are at a fancy schmancy food-tasting appointment. D’Andra and her controlling mama are at odds again over their family business. Last season, her mother unwillingly relinquished the keys to the business but has since reneged on the deal. D’Andra is extremely frustrated and torn on how to deal with the situation amicably. D’Andra describes the tense situation like a, “roller coaster…ripping [her] soul apart.”
Kameron Westcott is not just some “dumb blonde barbie,” she once had big aspirations before marrying her hubby, Court. She says that she wanted to get her masters degree at design school and learn textiles and color charts. However, Kameron’s main focus lately is her pink dog food line, “Sparkle” — yes, that’s still a thing — and she’s looking for a distributor. Court, however, is not fully on board — he married a dumb blonde barbie, and wants his wife to put her energy into the family.
LeeAnne is waving the white flag! She surrenders! And following through on her zen campaign by mending broken relationships. She decides to reach out to arch-nemesis, Cary Duber. Cary reluctantly agrees to meet for lunch, as long as the knives remain hidden.
The two ladies meet and LeeAnne tells Cary that she’s “genuinely sorry,” for her part in their contentious relationship. They both seem to be over the drama but Cary wants to ease her way into cordial status, “I want to be able to co-exist and be in the same room,” Cary tells LeeAnne. When LeeAnne asked if that meant occasional lunch dates, Cary was forthcoming: “I’m not there yet. And I want to be honest about that.” They leave the restaurant with a renewed sense of moving past the drama. Fingers crossed this happens!
It’s party time! D’Andra’s mama shady attitude is masked by her big Texan smile, “No one can believe that D’Andra is so happily married, because D’Andra had a few experiences,” she whispers in her date’s ear, “Trust me!” Then she tells another party-goer, “This [party] is boring.” Bravo, please make Mama Dee a full-time cast member, because she’s throwing NeNe Leakes level shade.
When the ladies sit for dinner, Stephanie is freaked out that her worst nightmare, “sitting next to LeeAnne,” has come true! But to Stephanie’s utter surprise, the two laugh and hold a pleasant conversation. Stephanie comments in a talking head that LeeAnne is “super nice tonight,” and this makes her want to give LeeAnne another chance. “Here’s to one day you and I making asses of ourselves together,” LeeAnne toasts to Stephanie.
Then out of nowhere, a random man grabs the mic and announces “LeeAnne and Rich will be getting married tonight!” Much to the surprise of LeeAnne and Rich, who look bewildered and left out of the prank. Tune into The Real Housewives of Dallas next week to find out if a wedding goes down!
