Health Inspection Reveals #RHONJ’s Joe Gorga’s Restaurant Is Gross — ‘Black Residue’ In Ice Machine!
While Melissa and Joe Gorga were busy cooking up drama on reality TV — health inspectors were on the prowl at their East Hanover, New Jersey restaurant.
Gorga’s Homemade Pasta & Pizza, owned and operated by Joe Gorga with help from his wife, Melissa Gorga, and sister, Teresa Giudice, officially opened its doors in May — has health inspection violations.

According to New Jersey State Department of Health records obtained by Page Six — on July 5, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star’s Italian-American eatery was inspected for one hour and fifteen minutes. Inspectors observed the following gross violations:
- Fridge unit had a build up of dust on the interior fan unit
- Ice machine has a build up of black residue (mold?)
- Employee was observed and warned several times about not wearing gloves while prepping the salad items, as well as, to wash hands prior to the glove placement
- Storing cold food at a temperature two degrees higher than normal
- Bowls used for food were haphazardly stored in the mop sink, instead of in a way to “prevent possible cross contamination.”
- Wiping cloths not properly stored in sanitizing solution
The restaurant is a tribute to Joe and Teresa’s mother, Antonia, who passed away in March. The menu is made up of standard Italian staples—many of which came from Teresa’s cookbook, Fabulicious.
The bistro was featured on RHONJ and Joe’s father, Giancinto, was filmed licking a spoon and putting the contaminated cooking utensil back into the pot of tomato sauce.
