AllAboutTheTea.com spoke to Thomas Ravenel to get his reaction to his recent court victory.
“I do not believe Kathryn’s lawyer leaked any confidential information to the media.” Thomas tells AllAboutTheTea.com in response to the reported leaked drug test results.
The politician turned reality star had not seen his kids for 12 weeks when he appeared in court last week to negotiate a custody arrangement with Dennis. Ravenel shared his thoughts about the time apart from his children.
“I used to see them every other week for three days, and then it went down to every other week for two days,” Thomas explained. “But before court, I had not seen them for twelve weeks!”
A “joint custody” agreement was struck, and following the proceedings, the Ravenel children were immediately handed over to their father. Thomas reunited with Kensie and Saint, after a twelve week separation.
“I gained joint custody of my kids on Thursday and I feel so blessed to see them after 12 weeks,” Thomas said.
The doting dad took to social media to share his joy since gaining joint custody.

Ravenel confirmed the custody agreement hammered out between him and Dennis.
“The agreement is, we’ll each have 50/50 custody. One week with her and one week with me,” Thomas said, adding, “This is temporary, until the case goes to mediation and is approved by the judge.”
A strict set of conditions was put into place, that must be adhered to by both Thomas and Kathryn, whenever the kids are in their care. The core of the agreement states that custody would be split, with unsupervised joint custody to Thomas, and supervised joint custody to Kathryn. Thomas agreed to allow Kathryn’s parents to supervise her time with the children.
The following is the criteria set forth in the consent order, agreed upon by Thomas and Kathryn. Each parent must adhere to the agreement when the children are in their care:
- Thomas was granted unsupervised joint custody of the two children, Kensington and St. Julien.
- Kathryn was granted supervised joint custody — Thomas agreed to allow Kathryn’s parents to supervise her time with the children.
- Custody will be split 50/50, with each parent alternating a week of custody.
- No drug use will be permitted.
- No paramours are allowed between certain hours in the home of either parent.
- No abuse of prescription drugs will be permitted.
- No drinking alcohol is allowed.
- Each parent MUST refrain from any alcohol or drug use, 12 hours prior to picking up the children for their designated week of custody.
Thomas was clearly overjoyed to be reunited with his young children, and gave us a peek into the sweet scene.
“I have my kids for a week and I am overjoyed,” Ravenel gushed, adding, “It’s been 12 weeks, so I was nervous about how Kensie would react to me.”
Thomas continues, “I was concerned that she [Kensie] would be standoffish or angry with me, but she was deliriously happy when she saw me. I just want to show her the love and attention that she needs and deserves, as her father.”
Ravenel believes that if he and Dennis failed to resolve their current predicament, it would have negatively impacted their kids down the road.
The co-parents head back to court on June 27 for mediation, where the agreement will be reviewed and signed off by a judge. This action will finalize the joint custody agreement.
