RECAP: Little Women LA “Special Pizza Delivery” [Season 4, Episode 6]
Little Women of L.A. begins with Tonya and Elena furniture shopping. The pair lounges in recliners, and commences complaining about last episode’s couple’s party. We flashback to the screech-fest, and the cut-rate nightmare that Jasmine’s party turned out to be. Terra was crushed that no one supported her during her daughter’s surgery, but Tonya explains that Terra refused visitors, so she forgot all about it. Tonya admits that she dropped the ball, and should have just ignored Terra’s stiff upper lip. They agree that they both feel badly, and owe Terra an apology.
We jump to another duo, Christy and Jasmine, who are indulging in retail therapy. Jasmine thinks it’s helping her mood, even if her husband is paying for her gaudy wardrobe, slinging hash in a job that he hates. They discuss the convo that Briana had with Christy, and Briana admits that she is a bit of a liar, and wants to restore their friendship.
It’s moving day for Todd and Christy, and Christy is excited about the house, but stressed about the move. Christy scurries around and makes decisions, and Todd parks behind the kitchen counter and plays the lazy director. Todd could have burned off some calories, labeling the the silly unmarked boxes. Christy resents Todd’s huffing and puffing, but isn’t sure how to inspire change. Maybe dropping a few herself, would be inspiring. Christy and Todd discuss Terra and Tonya’s rift, and Christy wants to plan a zen cooking party to bring them back together. Christy informs us that pizza is fine, because it adds to her healthy “curves.” Todd advises her to be patient with Briana, and maybe the friendship will improve.
We jump to Elena and Preston’s, where we learn that Elena wants to send Preston’s mom a video message for her birthday. We also know that Elena wants to drop the baby surprise on Preston, at the same time. The couple fumbles around until Elena finally tells her hubby the happy news. Preston is stunned but excited, and it’s fun to watch him swing his mini-wife around. Elena is nervous about being a mother, and wants to get to the doc, and get checked out.
Christy is meeting Briana for dinner, and hopes that she can keep her lying under control for the whole evening. Christy immediately demands pregnancy answers. Briana responds, but concludes that hanging out a little, before demanding answers about her family planning would be appropriate. Christy begins laying on buttinski family advice before they even get their water glasses. Briana goes wide-eyed, and promises that her family is the worst — no lie. Briana and her fluorescent lipstick just want Christy back, but certainly not her own family. Christy agrees, but looks suspicious.
Jasmine pops in to visit Terra, and brings gifts to Penny. Jasmine also wants to thank her for screaming at Tonya and Elena during her couples’ party. Terra shares a good report about her daughter, and apologizes for blaring her emotion all over her party guests. Terra shares that Tonya and Elena let her down, and Jasmine promises to fill in, whenever she needs her.
We join Briana and Matt, who are meeting with her ex, to discuss custody, and gossip about the family. Leif doesn’t want their arrangement to change, and Briana switches gears to avoid conflict. Matt asks Leif if he thinks his ex-in laws are a nightmare, and Briana spills that her stepmother recently gave Matt the evil-queen treatment. Leif suggests therapy, and Briana responds, by gasping in indignant horror.
We catch Briana and Matt walking on a pier, and discussing girly issues. Matt wants a wedding for his stepdaughter, and Briana wants a ghoulish wedding in a cemetery. Sounds appropriate, and should be mighty encouraging for her daughter. Briana’s family probably won’t make the guest list. The weekly mini group bitch-fest gathering has arrived, but this week, at least it involves pizza. Terra wears a horribly unflattering dress, and Christy apparently has gone all Yolanda Foster, and has given up wearing makeup. This party should be perfect, because Christy bonds best with her mouth jammed with food. Terra and Christy discuss friendships, and Terra’s disappointment with her gnomie, Tonya. The other women arrive, and prepare to get cookin’.
Terra gives Tonya and Elena an icy greeting, and Elena wants to fix their friendship. Tonya immediately demands pregnancy answers from Briana, and I am amazed at the utter gall of this bunch of women. Briana admits a pooch, but no babe, which relieves Tonya. The women pound out their dough, and get ready to scarf the pizza. Tonya sincerely apologizes to Terra, and Elena follows suit. Elena wants to quit fighting and agrees to have lunch with Jasmine to work out their issues. They toast to their surprisingly peaceful pizza date, and Elena and Tonya hug it out with Terra. My eardrums are happy.
Elena and Jasmine meet up, and Jasmine immediately apologizes for the mom party snub. Elena admits to being overly sensitive, and accepts. Jasmine explains her dwarfism, and the plight of her ugly hair. Jasmine can’t wait for her friend to have kids, but Elena shares that there’s no way that this annoying chick is going to be the first to know her secret. Christy and Todd are taking a baby CPR class, to fulfill adoption requirements, and Christy’s mom is along for the lesson. Todd almost crushes the baby dummy under his chubby fingers, and Christy continues to ramble on and on and on about her overweight husband, as if the viewers are blind. Christy is happy that she has mad CPR skills, just in case she has to revive her husband, from death by fat. Todd reminds her that she could also lose a few, and instead of admitting such, Christy pulls out the “I am happy with who I am” line.
Todd calls Christy verbally abusive, and Christy gets angry and calls Todd a snoring elephant pillow thrower. Todd baits her to say the “mean” words on-camera, and Christy storms off in tears. Christy is terrified of being a widow, or being caught saying mean words on camera—whichever comes first. Christy rants that she is going to stop the adoption process, until Todd can get it together and walk around the block. Her mom promises that if Todd kicks, she will help her deal with his giant corpse. Christy blubbers that Todd is not who she married, and needs an intervention, so she can know once and for all, which he would save in a fire—her, or his snacks.
Elena and Preston go to have two pregnancy tests confirmed, and have the nugget checked out. The doc confirms the pregnancy, and takes a look, to confirm all is well, and catch a heartbeat. The doc asks the couple to brace themselves, then leaves us all hanging. We do know however, that the couple is expecting TWINS! Congratulations to Preston and Elena!
