Andy Cohen Says Teresa Giudice “Deserves a Second Chance”
Andy Cohen says it’s time for the public to forgive Teresa Giudice and give her she second chance she deserves – but what does he know? The real decider of this forgiveness and second chance will be from the fans of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Are they ready to move on and embrace this new Teresa post prison?
The press circuit began this morning on Good Morning America to discuss her new memoir, “Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again” depicting life behind the bars of Danbury Federal Correctional Institution. The next interview for Teresa will be with her old pal Andy on “Watch What Happens Live” airing tonight. The two have not seen each other since 10 days prior to Teresa’s incarceration.
Andy teased the listeners on Sirius XM’s “Andy Cohen Live” on Monday. “I am going to see her for the first time. I was emailing with my producers yesterday and I said, ‘You know what? I think I want to see her tomorrow night for the first time live on the air.’ So I think I’ll not say hi to her before the show. I want to bring her out and just see her, have that real moment play out.”
Will the “real moment” bring tears or jeers? Andy says the last time he saw Teresa it was very emotional.
“We were shooting when Teresa left Danbury, when she got home, we’ve been shooting for the last few months,” Andy confirmed. “The last time I saw her on television was at the Jersey reunion, which was like a year and a half ago. The last time I saw her in person, we had a little top-secret lunch about 10 days before she went to prison. I went out to New Jersey and we had a very late lunch. And I have not seen her in person since that day. It was very emotional saying goodbye to her.”
Teresa’s home confinement ended on Feb 5 and her ankle monitor was removed, however, her travel is restricted to the tri-state area of New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.
Andy said, “Say what you want about Teresa and what she has done, what I say is she paid her time. And some would argue that she got way more time than she would have gotten had it not been such a high profile case.” He added, “The woman has served her time and she is paying back her debt to society and the government and I think that like everyone Teresa deserves a second chance.”
