The reality couple broke the news on the night of the RHOBH premiere, and reactions have been mixed. Nevertheless, despite the big split, Yolanda can’t deny that her romance with David was a Cinderella story, “You know we had a beautiful love story that I will treasure forever,” Foster told Andy Cohen when calling in to Watch What Happens Live Tuesday night.

When asked if her Lyme disease played a role in the breakup, she admitted that it definitely placed a strain on the marriage,

“Unfortunately it was not strong enough to withstand the circumstances that came our way,” she continued, and “Well, chronic long-term illness is extremely challenging,” Yolanda added. “Not only for the person sick but also for the caregiver. It for sure changed the dynamic of the relationship.”

Despite splitting from her love, Yolanda explained that she doesn’t want to focus on the negatives between the couple, and instead, she wants to honor the good times they shared.

“The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability, so rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to honor the great times that we shared the last nine years. There were a wealth of good times.”

Yolanda was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012 and has since struggled to treat her deteriorating condition. However, in a surprising turn of events, Yolanda shared that she’s made some positive strides in her recovery,

“I am much better since the last time that I saw you,” she told Cohen. “I have about 60 percent better brain function than I did in the last year. I can still only live and plan one day at a time. The exciting thing is watching the episodes and inspiring me, and I could see the progress that I have made. I am excited and grateful for that. I will continue to fight for a full recovery.”
