Yolanda Foster Explores Neurofeedback Brain Training to Treat Her Lyme Disease
Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Yolanda Foster is still aggressively fighting her chronic Lyme Disease. The former model is undergoing Neurofeedback training to treat her condition.
On Thursday, Foster, 51, Instagrammed a snapshot of herself with wires flowing from her head, “Time to get that brain back in gear……….#NeuroFeedBack #LymeBrain #LymeDiseaseAwereness,” her post captioned.
Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain disregulation. Neurofeedback is the direct training of brain function, by which the brain learns to function more efficiently. The brain is observed in action from moment to moment. Self-regulation training allows the system (the central nervous system) to function better.
The former reality star’s battle with Lyme disease turned debilitating earlier this year. Yolanda shared in her Bravo blog that a relapse had severely diminished her ability to read, write, and even to watch television, because of severely diminished brain function.
“I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter,” she wrote in a blog post in January. “It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.”
In August, Foster had leaky breast implants removed which may have been the culprit that exacerbated her preexisting medical condition.
