RECAP: Married to Medicine “A Love Triangle Bombshell is Dropped” [Episode 10]
This week on Married to Medicine the ladies really don’t do much. There was some hype with Dr. Darren, but that fell flatter than a weave in humidity. We begin with Toya and Dr. Eugene showing up unannounced at Jill’s house to hook her up with the vitamin infusion after their night of drinking.
Jill questions if the treatment is legal, and then tells Toya about last night’s confrontation between Heavenly and her husband, Dr. John. Jill is shocked to learn that Heavenly is so insecure – almost as much as Jill. Toya explains that Heavenly can go at it with a woman, but not a man. This must fall under the “submissive wife” rules. For the record, Heavenly claims not to have shushed, Dr. John, but thinks he’s a complete ass. Heavenly also thinks Toya is no longer the non-brightest bulb in the bunch, that honor now goes to Jill.
Over at Lisa Nicole’s house, the entire family has been forced to gather and enjoy a day of playing pool and playing spa. Daughter Amira asks about the basketball game and Lisa breaks the news they have been disinvited. But check this, Darren is the voice of reason on this one. He points out that Simone has invited a woman (Quad) with no kids to participate in an event for kids and has disinvited the woman that has kids (Lisa). So way to go Simone for putting kids first. Lisa uses this a teaching moment to tell Amira not to get involved in her friends’ future fights.
It’s pop-up pet shop time. Quad is so happy to set up in a warehouse and score some shelf time if any buyers happen to show up. Toya is at home getting her weave did by her stylist when the doorbell rings. Girl is so busy, she needs a butler. She lets in Kari who has a gift for Eugene, however that’s not the real reason she’s there. Kari is there to show Toya a picture of Quad and Lisa at the same recent event hosted by Porsha Williams of RHOA. Quad and Lisa weren’t posed together, mind you, but it was cozy enough that each knew the other was there. Toya ain’t happy about this.
Back at the pop-up shop, friends turn up to support Quad. Heavenly feels the warehouse setting a little beneath her, but the prices of the puppy couture is not. The leather and crystal ensemble can be yours for $309. And by yours, I mean, your dog’s. Heavenly asks Quad to drop the charges so that the gang can reunite. Quad says Heavenly shouldn’t know nothing about nothing because she hasn’t said anything about anything, specifically that little something. Know what I’m saying? Heavenly just laughs and says everyone knows. Quad promises to proceed with the criminal charges and sashays off.
Toya takes Simone aside and shows her the photos of Quad and Lisa at the same event. Simone is caught off guard and says she will address it. She finds Quad to say goodbye, but gives a warning to be prepared for any surprises coming her way. Quad reads this rather fast and reveals she will not be forced into a certain individual situation. Simone drops another warning, “Do not take me up.” Quad explains that in Atlanta eventually paths are going to cross and that’s how that came about. Quad doesn’t know if she’ll attend Simone’s basketball event. Simone walks away in tears, not feeling her friend’s support.
After Quad deems the pop-up shop a success because one person might place an order, she is taking photos with her team when this weird guy walks up and tries to interrupt. Quad banishes him to the side. When Quad finishes, she asks the weird-one if he’d like a photo. No. He don’t. He’s been placed there to drop a bombshell. He’s being all Rudy-attitudey and tells Quad he’s been reading the blogs about this business with her and Lisa. Quad, tries to shut him down by saying they aren’t going to go there, only he goes there and informs Quad that Lisa needs to worry about her man sleeping with other men. A little down-low for the low-down, Dr. Darren. Quad files this under, “I can’t wait to throw this in Lisa’s face.”
During the mini-scene between commercials, Dr. Darren is caught on film cheating while playing pool with his son DJ. Really, Darren? It’s too easy to make the connection that once a cheater, always a cheater. So I won’t go there. I won’t point it out. Note to editor: please remove this part so we don’t embarrass Dr. Darren even further. Thank you.
Over at Simone’s house she is showing her husband Cecil the new t-shirts for the basketball event. The ladies have a naked silhouette of a woman on the front. Gives new meaning to the word: Baller. After talking it over with her husband, Simone calls Lisa to apologize for disinviting her to the basketball party in the rude way she did. Lisa says she was hurt and disappointed, but accepts the apology. Nothing like waiting ‘till the last minute to apologize, the basketball event is tonight. Lisa tells Simone that her family will be there.
At the gym, the game begins with the moms against the boys. Dr. Gregory is there but doesn’t know where Quad is or if she’s coming. Now, I don’t recall seeing Dr. Gregory at his wife’s pop-up shop, but he’ll come to this even though they don’t have kids? Interesting. The game is close but the moms don’t dribble, they basically just hold the ball and run down the court, occasionally making baskets. Quad shows up and Simone is very happy. Lisa and her family show up and Simone is very, very happy. When the moms win, and Simone’s son starts crying, she seems that happiest of all. Quad leaves without starting any drama about Dr. Darren and his emergency backroom antics.
Tune is next week when M2M drags out this situation for another episode.
