RHONJ Star Dolores Catania Reveals She Was Scammed Out of $50K After Stylist Ran Off With Her Money
Dolores Catania has dealt with drama on The Real Housewives of New Jersey — but nothing could prepare her for the shocking scam she says she fell victim to while filming The Traitors Season 3 in Scotland.
On the debut episode of her new podcast By Order of the Faithfuls, co-hosted with Tamra Judge and Wells Adams, Dolores dropped the bombshell that she was conned out of a whopping $50,000 by her own stylist. “Did you run out of outfits?” Tamra asked on the August 11 episode, pointing out Dolores’ pared-down wardrobe on the Peacock series.
“No, I didn’t,” Dolores replied bluntly.
According to the 54-year-old Jersey Housewife, she trusted the stylist with her credit card to order looks for the show. But instead of sending her the clothes she paid for, the woman allegedly used Dolores’ card for a personal luxury shopping spree.
“She would order things on my credit card and send it to me. That’s how you do it with a stylist, right? And I kept calling her like, ‘Where’s my stuff?’” Dolores recalled. “She wasn’t buying all tartan plaid,” she quipped about the Scottish setting. “She was buying YSL leather bags and size extra small clothing, which on my best day, I’m not.”
Dolores said it was one particular charge that made her realize she’d been scammed: “$4,000 Revolve, $2,500 VarTech, and then Sephora — $900. I don’t go to Sephora. I get beauty products sent to me every week. I have beauty products up my a**.”
While she was eventually reimbursed by American Express, Dolores admitted it wasn’t easy. “It was a fight,” she said, adding she never disclosed what happened to the stylist who allegedly ran up her bills. The ordeal left Dolores fuming — and lighter in the wardrobe department — while filming a season that thrives on cutthroat betrayals.
Meanwhile, Dolores remains a central figure in Bravo’s orbit. Though RHONJ has been on pause since August 2024, she is expected back when filming resumes. Rumors are also swirling that she’s secretly filming another Housewives-style project in Rhode Island, allegedly focused on Italian-American families.
