Lala Kent Reveals ‘Terrifying’ Pre-Cancer Diagnosis and Started Eye Chemotherapy!

Lala Kent is opening up about a recent health scare.

The Vanderpump Rules alum, 34, shared with fans that she’s been diagnosed with pre-cancer on her eye and is beginning chemotherapy drops in hopes of avoiding surgery. In a series of candid Instagram Story videos, Lala detailed the progression of her diagnosis — starting with what she thought was just an inflamed eye.

“I originally went to an eye doctor, and he was like, ‘Oh yeah, it just looks like an inflamed pinguecula,’” she explained.

“A lot of people wrote in and were saying that same type of thing, or like, ‘Maybe it’s allergies.’” But Lala, who welcomed her second daughter Sosa in September, said something about the initial diagnosis didn’t sit right with her.

“That just didn’t feel right to me,” she continued. “Especially when the eye drops he prescribed weren’t helping.” After getting a second opinion from a specialist “who came highly recommended,” Lala was met with more concerning news.

“He looked at it and said, ‘I do not think that it’s that at all. I actually want to biopsy it because to me, it looks like it could be pre-cancer,’” she said. The doctor urged her to schedule surgery to remove the suspicious growth, which she had noticed about six to eight weeks earlier.

The goal was to determine whether it was cancerous and, if necessary, remove the affected area.

“It could be nothing — and that is the hope, that when they go in, it’s nothing,” Kent told fans. “They’d numb the eye, remove the growth, and either stitch it or do a skin graft to fix it. I’m kind of freaking out a little.”

Things moved quickly after Lala received a late-night message from her doctor informing her that a specialist could see her the following morning.

“I’m so grateful. He said, ‘The specialist can see you tomorrow at 9 a.m.,’” she shared. “So I was there at 9 a.m. She looked at it. She said that it is pre-cancer, and she said, ‘I want to start you on chemotherapy drops.’”

Understandably shaken, Lala admitted, “Now, I know that sounds terrifying. I cried, obviously.”

The recommended treatment plan includes three months of chemotherapy drops, applied in a specific cycle.

“She said, ‘I want you to do the chemo drops for three months. We’re gonna do a week of them and go off for three weeks. And we’re gonna do that for three months. At that point in time, God willing, it kills all of the cancerous cells,’” Lala explained.

If the treatment doesn’t work, surgery will be the next step. Lala’s decision to speak openly about the experience already has fans rallying around her with support.
