‘Sister Wives’ Stars Sell Coyote Pass Property for $1.5M

The long-running property dispute between the stars of Sister Wives has come to an end, as the Brown family has officially sold their once-cherished land known as Coyote Pass.

Sister Wives - Meri Brown

Kody Brown and his former wives — Robyn, Meri, Janelle, and Christine — have found a buyer for the 5.16-acre Flagstaff, Arizona property that was originally purchased in 2018 for $820,000. The family reportedly made a significant profit with a sale price of $1.5 million.

The sale marks the closing chapter of what was once a dream for the polygamist family: to build a shared compound and live communally.

One Dream, Five Parcels

When Kody Brown first acquired the scenic property, the goal was ambitious. He envisioned one massive home that could accommodate himself, his four wives, and their combined 18 children. That plan, however, was swiftly dismissed by the wives.

Instead, the land was divided into five separate parcels — one for each wife and an additional “man cave” space for Kody himself.

Over time, though, the family dynamic changed dramatically. With three out of four wives choosing to leave Kody, the dream of building on Coyote Pass fell apart.

Christine’s Exit Signaled the Beginning of the End

Christine Brown was the first to exit the marriage in late 2021, taking the couple’s youngest child, Truely, and relocating to Utah. She has since remarried and is now living a monogamous life with her new husband, David Woolley.

Reflecting on the initial appeal of Coyote Pass, Christine once said the mountain views made her “hear the angels singing.” But now, the land has passed to new owners. As the article notes: “The angels have stopped singing.”

Christine fully detached from the property in 2022 when she sold her parcel to Kody for just $10. The the transaction took place on July 28, 2022, effectively ending her stake in Coyote Pass and closing the door on her shared life with Kody and Robyn.

Janelle and Meri’s Legal Concerns

The unraveling continued into 2022 and 2023 as Janelle and Meri also chose to leave Kody. By that time, Kody and Robyn were left with a 50% share of the property, while Janelle and Meri each retained a 25% stake.

The division sparked conflict over how the land would be handled, especially on the current season of Sister Wives.

Meri and I don’t know what’s going on. So of course we’re frustrated,” Janelle shared during a confessional. “We’re completely in the dark. There is no communication, nothing.”

Sister Wives - Janelle Brown

For Janelle, Coyote Pass represented more than just a piece of land — it symbolized a future she had envisioned for her family. She had spoken openly about her desire to build a home and a “legacy” for her children, including her late son Garrison Brown, who tragically passed away in March 2024 at the age of 25.

Janelle even considered legal action to protect her portion of the investment, encouraging Meri to seek similar counsel if necessary.

The Final Sale Ends the Land Saga

After months of uncertainty and shifting ownership, the Coyote Pass saga has concluded. All parties have now exited the property, leaving behind a vision that never quite materialized.

Though the dream of a polygamous family compound in Flagstaff may be over, the sale of the land for $1.5 million provides a financial win after years of emotional and logistical struggles.

Where the Browns Stand Now

Christine is happily remarried and living a new life in Utah. Janelle and Meri are focused on rebuilding their futures independently. Robyn remains Kody’s sole wife.

All seasons of Sister Wives are available to stream on Discovery+.
