Brittany Cartwright Reveals ‘Traumatic’ Incident with Jax Taylor That Nearly Led Her to Call the Cops!
Brittany Cartwright is breaking her silence on the emotional toll of her separation from Jax Taylor. The Valley star, 35, opened up in a recent interview about how difficult it was to speak freely during press events, especially with her estranged husband possibly within earshot.
“Does nobody realize that I was scared on the carpet, [asking] if Jax was around listening to what I was saying?” Brittany recalled during a sit-down with Housewives Nightcap. “I didn’t want him to hear the things I was saying. I felt I couldn’t be myself if he was around and hearing.”
The emotional moment came ahead of The Valley Season 2 premiere. In the trailer, Brittany was seen referencing a “restraining order,” sparking questions and concern among viewers. She has now clarified what she meant.
“I didn’t ever actually file a restraining order,” Brittany explained. “It was something that was going to happen if he didn’t leave me alone. Two days before we started filming, which everybody sees in the first episode, that’s whenever I really could have called the cops or done something because it was very, very bad and very traumatic.”
Instead of taking legal action at the time, Brittany says mutual friends Jason and Janet helped de-escalate the situation.
“Jason and Janet came over, and we, like, settled it between all of us, and Jason took him away, and Janet stayed with me,” she said. “But I was like, ‘In the future, if this ever happened again, I’m taking a different route.’”
Brittany and Jax, 44, announced their separation earlier this year after years of ups and downs, including Jax recently revealing that he sought treatment for alcohol and cocaine addiction. Their split has also been complicated by rumors of Brittany dating Jax’s friend Julian Sensley—something she says he continues to bring up despite it being in the past.
Brittany Cartwright also claimed Jax Taylor flipped a coffee table after discovering messages between her and his friend, Julian. “He still brings up Julian, who I have not talked to in months. Months!” Brittany revealed. “But that still gets brought up to me almost on a daily basis.”
As for her current love life, Brittany shared that she’s slowly stepping into the dating world but keeping things light for now.
“I mean, I have been on, like, some dates and stuff,” she said. “And I do have, like, a couple of crushes. I say a couple of crushes. I don’t really know how to explain it. I have a crush for sure. But you know, nothing serious yet.”
The Valley airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
