Tom Sandoval SCRAMBLING After Court Mistake – Asks Judge for Mercy in Rachel Leviss Case!

Tom Sandoval just learned the hard way that representing yourself in court isn’t always the best idea.

In court documents obtained by In Touch, Tom filed a declaration explaining why he failed to meet the required 30-day response deadline in Rachel’s lawsuit against him and his ex, Ariana Madix. “On December 13, 2024, I was newly representing myself,” Tom stated.

“[I was] actively searching for another attorney and mistakenly believed that I had missed the deadline to respond. I was concerned that this would make it appear as though I was trying to delay things.”

To try to fix the issue, Tom claimed he reached out to Rachel’s attorney, Mark Geragos, and asked for an additional 30 days to respond. Mr. Geragos did not respond to my email,” Tom added.

Rachel’s lawsuit stems from explicit FaceTime videos that Tom allegedly recorded without her consent during their affair. After his then-girlfriend Ariana discovered the videos on his phone, Rachel claims they were shared with others—something Ariana has denied.

Adding another layer to the legal battle, Tom previously claimed that Rachel’s lawyers offered to drop the lawsuit if he helped build a case against NBCUniversal, Bravo’s parent company. Rachel’s attorneys shut down Tom’s claim with a scathing response:

Tom claims he lost his phone; Tom claimed he lost his lawyer; Tom did in fact lose his motion to dismiss. It now appears he’s lost his mind.” Now that Tom has secured new legal representation, his attorney is asking the court not to penalize him for his missed deadline and lack of legal experience.

“[Tom] represented himself in this case for 32 days,” his lawyer explained in a recent motion. “During this time, he was transitioning from his former attorneys, searching for a new attorney, and preparing for the holiday season.”

The motion continues, arguing that Tom was unfamiliar with legal discovery procedures and didn’t realize that missing the deadline meant waiving certain objections.

“At the time responses were due, [Tom] was unfamiliar with discovery procedures,” the filing reads. “He did not understand what objections could be made, let alone that those objections would be waived by failing to serve timely responses.” A judge has yet to rule on Tom’s request for leniency, and the case remains ongoing.

Stay tuned as the drama unfolds.
