Jennifer Fessler Reveals She Tried to Quit RHONJ But Came Back for the ‘Addictive’ Drama!
Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Fessler reveals she nearly quit the show after a heated argument, admitting, “It was very short-lived” but the drama kept her coming back for more!
The tension surrounding Season 14’s finale was so intense and chaotic that the cast couldn’t even come together to film the reunion, leaving their future on the show unclear. It’s ironic, considering Jennifer herself was ready to quit after a heated argument, yet still hopes for another shot at returning.
Speaking on the Perfectly Twisted podcast with host Nicole Eggert earlier this month, Jennifer opened up about a fight with co-star Jackie Goldschneider that nearly made her quit. “When I started [on the show] I got into it at one point with Jackie Goldschneider,” Jennifer shared.
“It was very short-lived, and it didn’t even, it got lost on the editing floor. But I had this big fight with her. And when I left this party, I said to one of the producers, ‘I’m done, I quit, this is not for me. I don’t, this is not my energy. I don’t want this in my life you know, [expletive] this!’ And he’s like, ‘Really? Call me tomorrow and tell me the same thing.’”
Despite her frustration, Jennifer’s “adrenaline rush” from the filming process drew her back.
“It’s very addictive,” she admitted, noting that even after her blowout, she was eager to return to the chaos. Jennifer also compared the experience of filming Real Housewives of New Jersey to a “Hunger Games mentality,” explaining how cutthroat the process can be.
“It’s like ‘The Hunger Games.’ Like, you are thrown into this arena, and you try to make alliances just to stay alive. And then you make these alliances, but eventually, you’re gonna have to turn on each other, right?” she explained.
“There’s this very competitive… and I am willing to bet that every single franchise feels that way. And if they say that they don’t they’re full of it.”
This competitive nature left Jennifer feeling frustrated, especially since her status as a “friend of” the cast often left her on the sidelines. “Even though I was a ‘friend of,’ I feel like I was a part of an ensemble, and I was as much a part as anyone else,” she shared.
“It’s a very nerve-wracking thing. You want that camera time and you get very threatened when you don’t get it. And I think that’s probably true for everyone.”
As the RHONJ cast awaits clarity on their future, Jennifer’s willingness to battle through the tension speaks to the addictive, high-stakes nature of the show—and her desire to keep coming back for more.
