Lisa Vanderpump Speaks Out on the Shocking Closure of Schwartz & Sandy’s: ‘A Hard Blow’

Lisa Vanderpump was left shocked and disappointed when she discovered that Schwartz & Sandy’s would be closing its doors.

Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz revealed last month that their restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s, would close permanently by the end of the year.  While the closure marks the end of an era, Schwartz expressed gratitude for the journey.

He posted an emotional message on Instagram, saying, “Let’s end this era on a high note and come on by, bring your friends, toast to the upcoming holidays, and let’s manifest together a kick-ass New Year. There’s some peace in knowing I gave my absolute all into S&S, fully committed with every fiber of my being.”

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Lisa admitted she learned about it through Instagram, just like the rest of the world. She called the news a “hard blow” and expressed her sadness over the restaurant’s downfall.

“I’m very sad to see Schwartz & Sandy’s close because that was such a struggle, and it was a very difficult time to start a restaurant business,” Lisa shared.

The closure of Schwartz & Sandy’s came just before Bravo announced the full recasting of Vanderpump Rules for Season 12, leaving the Toms without two major sources of income. Despite this setback, Lisa remains optimistic about their future.

“They haven’t lived a life without reality television as a grown-up really, have they?” Lisa said, showing faith that the Toms will find their footing again.

The decision stems from financial challenges, including slim profit margins post-COVID and the negative impact of the “Scandoval.” Schwartz expressed, “Recovering from all the negativity post-scandal wasn’t easy, and the slimmer margins post-COVID made it even harder to bounce back.”
