Luann de Lesseps Agrees with Bethenny Frankel Calling RHONY Reboot ‘Trash’
Former Real Housewives of New York stars Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel might not always see eye to eye, but when it comes to Bravo’s RHONY reboot, they’re surprisingly in sync. Both reality TV veterans have expressed their disappointment with the revamped series, with Bethenny going so far as to call it a “piece of trash” in now-deleted TikTok rants.
TMZ recently caught up with Luann, who echoed Bethenny’s sentiments about the reboot and the sidelining of the show’s original stars. “You know, [Bethenny’s] not wrong,” Luann admitted.
Reflecting on the absence of herself, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, and Ramona Singer, she agreed with Bethenny’s call to mix the “golden era” cast with the new faces. “For once, I agree with Bethenny. For once! I mean, life is a cabaret, isn’t it?” she quipped, never missing the chance to drop her signature tagline.
While Luann is open to the idea of returning to RHONY, she’s not jumping back in without serious consideration—and compensation. “I don’t know. That’s a maybe for me,” she said.
“I never say yes; I never say no. ‘Maybe’ gives you time to think.” When asked what might speed up her decision, she laughed and replied, “A lot of money.”
Despite the reboot’s struggles with ratings, Luann holds no grudges against Bravo, calling the network her “family.” She added, “I’m a team player,” before taking the opportunity to plug her upcoming Bravo series, Love Hotel, premiering this spring.
The recent Real Housewives of New York City reboot has faced significant criticism from fans, particularly following a controversial pregnancy prank involving cast member Rebecca Minkoff.
In a recent episode, Rebecca and Erin Lichy orchestrated a fake pregnancy rumor to identify a group “pigeon,” which backfired and was deemed insensitive by viewers and fellow cast members.
For fans, seeing Luann and Bethenny agree—even if it’s to criticize the new RHONY—feels like a nod to the glory days of the franchise. Whether or not the “golden era” cast will ever return to the fold remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: the original Housewives still hold their reign.
