Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant is defending her co-star Karen Huger as Season 9 dives into Karen’s recent DUI drama.
While the incident, which Karen refers to as her “accident,” has divided fans, Gizelle insists Karen has shown accountability. In an interview with Decider, Gizelle praised her friend, saying, “Karen is evolving. She’s doing a lot of self-reflection. But if it was somebody else, she’d be coming for them.” Gizelle’s support, however, hasn’t silenced critics, as some viewers believe Karen is downplaying the severity of her DUI.

According to the motion, Karen claims her statements were obtained “as a result of an illegal search and seizure” and requests they be suppressed.
Prosecutors responded, stating that her statements during a “roadside investigation” didn’t require Miranda rights and argued her comments to Emergency Medical Services personnel were “free and voluntary.”
Additionally, the government’s filing provided further details, noting that police observed Karen unsteady on her feet and slurring her speech at the scene of the crash, where her car was found off-road with airbags deployed and two beers inside.
As Karen’s legal case continues, the debate among fans intensifies. Many question if Karen has truly taken responsibility, with some feeling her response has been dismissive.
