Katie Maloney EXPOSES Tom Schwartz’s ‘Bad Behavior,’ Admits She ‘Normalized Too Much’
Katie Maloney dropped a bombshell about her split from Tom Schwartz, exposing how the unraveling of their marriage took a serious toll on her self-worth.
Reflecting on the end of her marriage during a recent appearance on the Brutally Anna podcast, Katie opened up about the painful realizations she faced and the difficult journey of moving on.
Their split wasn’t sudden; it was a slow unraveling that left Katie questioning her own self-worth and re-evaluating her relationship standards. “For a long time, I normalized bad behavior and treatment that I just didn’t deserve,” she admitted.
Despite being candid about her own flaws, she pointed to Tom’s inability to grow within the marriage, saying he “didn’t know how to be a partner.” The couple found themselves with “different goals and intentions” after a few years of marriage, she shared, leaving them on diverging paths.
Katie and Tom’s marriage, often showcased on Vanderpump Rules, was marked by both love and struggle. Friends and castmates had their own views on the relationship, with some, like Lala Kent, asserting that Tom “never chose” Katie. Still, Katie emphasized that the decision to end things wasn’t easy, noting, “I was still very much in love with him,” even while considering divorce.
However, she knew she needed to make a change for her own well-being.
The reality star described her journey of self-love as a gradual realization that she deserved more. “I just started to love myself again,” Katie reflected. “Through that process, I was looking at the rest of my life like, ‘Hold on, like, I don’t deserve this.’ I always thought I did. I think I just normalized so much to myself.”
During their marriage, Tom Schwartz admitted to infidelity and was known for repeatedly cheating on Katie Maloney.
While the decision to leave was “heartbreaking,” Katie knew it was essential for her growth. “It was really heartbreaking to come to that sort of conclusion of understanding what’s best for me but just trying to fight it,” she admitted, emphasizing that prioritizing her happiness became her driving force.
