Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards is facing a tumultuous family feud that has escalated to a legal conservatorship battle involving her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky’s 81-year-old father, Eduardo Umansky.

According to exclusive court documents obtained by In Touch, Kyle and Mauricio’s daughters — Alexia, Sophia, and Portia — have been pulled into this contentious situation as they acknowledge their father’s and aunt Sharon Umansky Benton’s attempts to take control of Eduardo’s finances.

The court filings indicate that the sisters, aged 28, 24, and 16, signed paperwork on October 21 stating that they do not require notification of any future hearings regarding their grandfather’s conservatorship. Eduardo has approved the appointment of Mauricio and Sharon as co-conservators, a decision that reflects the seriousness of the allegations surrounding his care.

Claims of Manipulation and Isolation

The conservatorship petition, initially filed by Mauricio and Sharon in August, alleges that Eduardo’s girlfriend, Simin Tabibni, has become increasingly controlling and has isolated him from his family. In the documents, they assert, “Over the course of the past few months, [Eduardo’s] girlfriend has become more controlling, limiting and regulating who [Eduardo] can visit with.” They also allege that Simin is attempting to marry Eduardo despite their long-term relationship, stating, “They have been together for twenty years and never decided that they wanted to marry.”

Mauricio and Sharon further claim that Eduardo has fallen victim to “undue influence and fraud,” asserting that Simin has appropriated over $260,000 from him through manipulation. “During this time, [Eduardo] has written more than $260,000 worth of checks to his girlfriend for no reason other than she wanted it,” they explained.

As part of their petition, they requested assistance in curbing what they described as “abusive” spending. This family drama has become increasingly complex, with court proceedings revealing deep rifts and accusations between the parties involved.

Judicial Approval for Conservatorship

Recently, a judge approved the conservatorship of Eduardo’s estate, citing sufficient evidence that he is unable to manage his financial affairs due to the influence of his girlfriend. The court ruled, “The Court finds from clear and convincing evidence that a Conservatorship of the Estate is necessary and appropriate in that the Proposed Conservatee is unable to care for his/her financial affairs and is subject to undue influence.”

Mauricio and Sharon were deemed suitable co-conservators, and a hearing has been scheduled for January to determine whether they will receive additional powers in managing Eduardo’s estate.

Escalating Tensions with Simin Tabibni

As tensions rise, it has been reported that the relationship between Mauricio’s family and Simin has turned particularly hostile. Sharon has filed a restraining order against Simin, claiming that during a recent encounter, Simin physically attacked her. In retaliation, Simin has also filed her own restraining order against Sharon, alleging that Sharon “grabbed” and “shoved” her during the same incident.

Simin’s petition highlights her claims of persistent harassment and slander from Sharon and her mother, alleging a conspiracy to undermine her relationship with Eduardo. “Recently, [Simin] was reliably informed that said ex-wife has attempted to engage in renewed sexual relations with the father, some 30 years after their divorce,” the petition states. Simin vehemently denies the allegations that she has been isolating Eduardo from his family and friends.

Mauricio’s Legal Troubles

Adding to the family’s woes, Mauricio is currently battling a federal lawsuit concerning Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans that his real estate company, The Agency, allegedly obtained improperly. Mauricio has firmly denied any wrongdoing in relation to these allegations, but the dual pressures of the family dispute and legal challenges are certainly weighing on him.
