‘RHONJ’ Star Dina Cantin’s Ex-Husband Thomas Manzo Sentenced In Mob-Linked Assault 

Thomas Manzo, ex-husband of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Cantin has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in a mob-linked assault targeting her new husband, David Cantin.

Thomas Manzo was found guilty in October 2023 for his role in orchestrating a violent assault on her then-boyfriend, now-husband, David Cantin. The Franklin Lakes resident and owner of the iconic Brownstone banquet hall in Paterson was convicted on Tuesday after a two-and-a-half-week trial.

Thomas Manzo was charged with hiring a suspected mafia member, John Perna, to carry out the brutal attack in exchange for a lavish wedding reception at The Brownstone in 2015. Perna, who is linked to the Lucchese Crime Family, pleaded guilty to his involvement and was sentenced to 30 months in prison, having been released in August 2023.

Mob Ties and a Vicious Attack

Thomas Manzo was found guilty of several serious charges, including committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering, conspiracy to commit a violent crime resulting in serious bodily injury, and falsifying and concealing documents during a federal investigation.

U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger shared the gravity of Manzo’s actions, stating, “Thomas Manzo hired a soldier in the Lucchese Crime Family to carry out a vicious assault on his ex-wife’s then-boyfriend, causing the victim to suffer significant injuries.”

Sellinger added that Manzo will now face “just punishment for his crimes.”

FBI: “A Bad TV Crime Drama Turned Reality”

FBI agent in charge, James E. Dennehy, expressed his disbelief at the real-life nature of the case. “The facts and circumstances in this case read like something from a bad TV crime drama, but the evidence and testimony presented in court prove it was reality,” Dennehy said. He also acknowledged the impact of Manzo’s actions on his victims, stating, “We truly hope the victims in this investigation are able to move on with their lives and forget about Manzo and his criminal mafia bedfellows.”

Manzo Sentenced to 7 Years

On October 15, Thomas Manzo, was sentenced to seven years in prison for arranging an attack on her boyfriend.
