Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly staying in touch with his children from behind bars, expressing deep concern for their well-being as he faces serious legal charges related to sex trafficking.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is staying in contact with his children following his arrest for sex trafficking. The 54-year-old rapper and entrepreneur, who was arrested earlier this month, has made brief phone calls to his family while incarcerated, according to an insider.

“Diddy has spoken briefly to family members and his children via phone,” a source told People on Monday, adding that Combs is deeply concerned about his children’s well-being. “He’s very concerned about his kids. They’re his top priority, even in this situation.”

Family in Crisis

Combs, a father of seven, has been a devoted dad to his children over the years, but his current legal situation has left his family in disarray. According to a second source close to the family, the children are struggling to cope with the shocking turn of events.

“They’re in a state of crisis and shock,” the insider said. “This is their father. But to them, he’s not Diddy — he’s Dad. He has always been a loving, devoted father.”

Combs shares son Christian, 26, and twin daughters Jessie and D’Lila, 17, with his late ex-girlfriend Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 47. He also adopted Porter’s son, Quincy, 33, from her previous relationship with Al B. Sure! Additionally, Combs has a son Justin, 30, with stylist Misa Hylton, a daughter Chance, 18, with Sarah Chapman, and his youngest daughter, Love, born in 2022 with Dana Tran.

“Desperate” to Speak to His Kids

Last week, a separate source revealed that Combs was “desperately” trying to maintain contact with his children while detained at the City of New York Department of Corrections.

“He desperately wanted to speak to his kids,” the source said, explaining that the family has been leaning on each other for support and turning to their faith during this difficult time. “They’re turning to God for guidance and strength.”

The family is also facing a tough emotional situation, as four of Combs’ children are now left without either parent present. Kim Porter’s death in 2018 left a void in the family, and Combs’ recent incarceration has only deepened the emotional strain on his children.

“He has three minor children, two of whom now have no living parent available with him incarcerated,” a source noted. “Four of his seven children have neither parent available with him behind bars.”

The “I’ll Be Missing You” artist pleaded not guilty to all charges but remains incarcerated after being denied bail. According to reports, Combs has been placed on suicide watch due to the severity of his legal situation and concerns about his mental health.

Combs’ fall from grace began in November 2023, when his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a lawsuit accusing him of rape and physical abuse throughout their 10-year relationship. Though the case was settled the next day, the allegations shook the public’s perception of the once-revered music mogul.

In May 2024, Combs faced further scrutiny when a video surfaced showing him physically assaulting Cassie in a hotel room in 2016. The footage went viral, forcing the rapper to publicly apologize and call his actions “inexcusable.”

Now, Combs is facing at least eight separate lawsuits tied to accusations of sexual misconduct, trafficking, and abuse. He has denied all wrongdoing but is expected to endure a lengthy legal battle.
