Alexis Bellino Regrets Threatening Shannon Beador With Damaging Video

Real Housewives of Orange County star Alexis Bellino is opening up about the controversy surrounding her comments on Shannon Beador’s personal videos, which were allegedly captured on John Janssen’s security cameras on the night of Shannon’s DUI. Alexis now admits that bringing up those videos during filming was a mistake, revealing that her frustration in the moment led to the impulsive remark.

Alexis Admits Mentioning the Videos Was a “Knee-Jerk Reaction”

In an interview with Decider, Alexis reflected on the heated moment when she referenced the videos that were captured by her fiancé John Janssen’s security system. She acknowledged that she should have handled the situation differently, saying, “The way that the videos were brought up — yes, I wish I hadn’t.” Alexis explained that her emotions got the best of her, leading her to bring up something that was never meant to be public.

“It was a very knee-jerk reaction,” Alexis shared, elaborating that she was feeling overwhelmed by the ongoing conversation about Shannon and John. “I was emotional, and I was kind of — what you don’t see in that scene is I was a little frustrated at the women who are my friends, but they were bringing up Shannon a lot and talking about John a lot and asking a lot of questions.”

Despite the intense back-and-forth with her co-stars, Alexis made it clear that the footage was never supposed to be discussed on the show. “It was never meant to be brought into this public forum at all,” she added, explaining that she just “snapped” under the pressure of the conversation.

Alexis Criticizes Emily Simpson

A key point of contention came when Emily Simpson suggested that Alexis should show more compassion toward Shannon, especially in light of her legal battle with John. In one episode, Alexis hinted that the footage from the night of Shannon’s DUI could ruin her life, which sparked concern among the cast members.

When asked about Emily’s comments, Alexis didn’t hold back, saying, “First of all, Emily just needs to stay in her place a little. She gets in everyone else’s business.” Alexis expressed frustration with how Emily handled the situation and felt that Emily was being too judgmental. “I wish that she would’ve come in as a friend to me and not as so judgy in that scene that you guys saw.”

Instead, Alexis hoped for more understanding from Emily, especially considering everything she was going through at the time. “I have had a lot on my plate,” she said, pointing to the difficulties she faced while filming, including her mother’s passing just months earlier.

The Emotional Toll of the Season

Alexis revealed that this past season of RHOC was particularly challenging for her, not only because of the drama with Shannon but also due to personal loss. “It was almost like [they thought] I’m invincible or something, or I was just the villain from the beginning,” she said, referring to how her co-stars treated her during filming.

The reality star opened up about the immense emotional weight she carried, noting that she was still grieving her mother’s death when the cameras started rolling. “We filmed, I think it was three months after her death,” she shared. “And then dating who I chose. And then, you know, just all the stuff in the media.”

Alexis Feels Closer to John Amid the Backlash

Despite the public scrutiny and online backlash, Alexis believes that the challenges have only strengthened her relationship with John. She described how the negativity surrounding their relationship pushed them closer together. “I think it’s kind of like when we first started talking as friends. Everyone talking about us kind of pushed us closer together faster because we’re like, ‘We’re just friends. Like, what’s going on?’” Alexis said.

The star also mentioned that her relationship with John has been a source of stability during a turbulent time. “It’s kind of the same thing that’s happening with as much of the negativity that we’re getting right now.”

In addition to her romantic relationship, Alexis pointed out that some of her co-stars, like Heather Dubrow and Tamra Judge, were supportive throughout the season. “Heather and Tamra were really supportive friends throughout the conflict,” she said, also acknowledging that Jenn Pedranti and Katie Ginella became more understanding once they got to know her better.

Looking Ahead

As Alexis reflects on the intense season, she’s hopeful that viewers will eventually see the full picture of what she was dealing with both personally and on the show. “It was a very difficult season for me to film for the three reasons,” she said, pointing to the loss of her mother, the media scrutiny, and her challenging relationship dynamics.

Whether or not the videos she referenced will ever come to light remains unclear, but one thing is certain: Alexis has learned from the experience and is moving forward, determined to maintain her relationship with John and navigate the ongoing challenges of life in the spotlight.
