‘Love After Lockup’ Star Zeruiah Blames Her Angry Outburst on Bipolar, Claims Troy Withheld Her Meds!
In the September 13 episode of Love After Lockup (Season 5, Episode 38), viewers were shocked by the explosive argument between Troy and Zeruiah. Zeruiah’s explosive behavior, including screaming and a violent meltdown, left fans frustrated with her out-of-control actions, sparking major reactions online.
Zeruiah’s Violent Outburst
Troy and Zeruiah’s relationship hit a breaking point, with accusations flying over Troy’s ex, Yona. However, Zeruiah recently shared a more in-depth explanation of her behavior, revealing that her actions were influenced by a manic episode due to untreated bipolar disorder. In a candid interview with Youtuber, Zeruiah opened up about her mental health struggles and how they impacted her relationship with Troy.
Zeruiah’s Untreated Bipolar Disorder
Zeruiah explained that she was not on her bipolar medication during the argument. According to her, Troy had discouraged her from taking the medication, telling her, “you don’t need it, like it’s all in your head.” She followed his advice, believing she could work through her mental health challenges without the medication.
Zeruiah reflected on the situation, explaining that her angry outburst was the result of a bipolar episode.
“What you all are seeing is unmedicated Zeruiah going through a manic episode.” Zeruiah added that her erratic behavior, including yelling and throwing her wedding ring, was the result of being in a “blacked out” state during the episode.
Anger Directed at Production
The confrontation between Zeruiah and Troy, which centered on accusations about Troy’s lingering relationship with Yona, escalated when Zeruiah, in a manic state, lashed out not only at Troy but also at the production crew.
“I told that lady to get the f*** from in front of that door,” Zeruiah revealed, clarifying that much of her anger was directed at the producers rather than her husband. “I’m not talking to Troy. I’m talking to her,” Zeruiah said, highlighting how production was manipulating the situation for the cameras.
Zeruiah continued to express her frustrations about how the producers handled the situation. She claimed that they were stirring up drama by having people, including Troy’s friends, get involved.
“Y’all got people calling. Y’all got Karen in the loop acting silly,” she said, referring to another individual involved in their circle who seemed to add fuel to the fire.
Zeruiah Wants To Move On
Despite the intense argument and the visible strain on their relationship, Zeruiah explained that much of what viewers saw was a result of her untreated bipolar disorder. Now that she’s back on her medication, she hopes people will have a better understanding of how severe bipolar disorder can be.
“I don’t think that people really understand how severe bipolar disorder is,” she emphasized. “It’s not anything to… control yourself,” she added, referring to the common misconception that people with mental health disorders can simply manage their symptoms without medical intervention.
Zeruiah Blames Troy
According to Zeruiah, Troy’s decision to discourage her from taking her medication played a significant role in the unfolding drama, but Zeruiah expressed a desire for both of them to move forward and focus on their relationship. Despite everything that happened, Zeruiah made it clear that she didn’t want her husband to be villainized. “I don’t want my husband to be put out there like that,” she said, explaining that he also deserved to have his side of the story heard.

In reflecting on their relationship, acknowledged the impact her mental health struggles had on both of them, noting that it wasn’t just her who suffered. “This happened to him,” she said, referring to Troy’s experience during the argument. She expressed regret over how things escalated and recognized that both she and Troy were dealing with the emotional fallout of her untreated condition.
