The Vanderpump Rules star, who recently welcomed her second daughter, Sosa, has filed a lawsuit against New Jersey-based Cosmesi LLC, alleging multiple violations related to her brand “Give Them Lala.”

In a complaint submitted to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on September 11, Lala, 34, claims Cosmesi LLC engaged in trademark infringement, breach of contract, violation of the right of publicity, unfair business practices, and unjust enrichment. The legal battle centers on allegations that Cosmesi continued to use her trademarked brand and sold products without her authorization.

According to court documents obtained by Law360, Lala and Cosmesi entered into an agreement in 2019. Under this agreement, Cosmesi was tasked with marketing and selling cosmetics through Belle Vierge LLC, while Kent was to serve as the brand ambassador.

The deal stipulated that Kent would oversee product and marketing content to ensure alignment with her brand and prohibited Cosmesi from creating or selling products without her consent.

The situation took a turn in 2021 when Belle Vierge ceased operations. Lala’s lawsuit alleges that despite the termination of Belle Vierge, Cosmesi continued to use her intellectual property (IP) unlawfully.

Notably, on July 30, Cosmesi launched a new lip product, described as a “matte + moisture lip wand,” using Lala’s registered IP without her approval.

Lala Kent’s legal team, represented by Jeffrey H. Grant and Matthew Follett of Fox Rothschild LLP, contends that this product launch violated the licensing agreement and the terms of their contract.

In her complaint, Kent is seeking a range of remedies, including “compensatory and treble damages, disgorgement of profits, punitive damages, preliminary and permanent injunctions, interest, and attorney fees,” as reported.
