Lala Kent Delays Revealing Newborn’s Name on Beyonce’s Birthday: ‘Baby S Deserves Her Moment’
Lala Kent is keeping her baby girl’s name under wraps for now—and her reason is all about timing. The Vanderpump Rules star welcomed her second child just before September 4, but she’s chosen to wait before revealing the name. She didn’t want to compete with Beyoncé’s birthday.
On the September 4 episode of her podcast Give Them Lala, Lala explained her decision to hold off on sharing her baby’s name, which starts with the letter “S.” The podcast episode was recorded before her daughter’s birth but aired the day after.
“Today’s Beyoncé’s birthday. It’s her day. We can’t announce today,” Lala said when asked by her assistant, Jessica Walter, if she’d revealed the name. “No one’s gonna give a sh-t. It’s Beyoncé’s birthday! I’m gonna wait… Baby S deserves her moment.”
Lala, who shares a 3-year-old daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett, with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett, has been teasing her second child’s name for months. While she confirmed the first letter is “S,” she’s kept fans guessing about the full name.
During the podcast, Lala also shared that she had several “S” names in mind for her second daughter but wanted to wait until she saw her baby before finalizing the choice.
“All the names that I’ve been wanting have started with an S,” Lala explained. “I’m just gonna look at her and that’s what I’ll name her.”
As for when and how she’ll reveal Baby S’s name, Lala hasn’t quite decided. In a recent interview with Mini magazine, she shared her excitement about keeping the name a secret.
“No one’s guessed [her name]. That’s the best part about it,” Lala said. “Do I post a picture of the baby with the name? Or do I reveal the name after I’ve finished breastfeeding and I get the [name] tattooed? There are so many ways.”
While the name remains a mystery for now, fans are eagerly awaiting the big reveal—and knowing Lala, it will be worth the wait.
