Kroy Biermann is taking charge of his financial future by filing to sell the Georgia mansion he once shared with his estranged wife, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak.

The former NFL player, 38, blames Kim’s extravagant spending for their financial woes, and he’s now moving forward with the sale of the property without her input.

This latest development comes after the couple initially attempted to sell the house while facing foreclosure back in April. With the situation becoming more urgent, Kroy is determined to cut his losses as he battles Kim’s spending habits in an effort to prevent financial ruin.

Biermann Moves to Sell Mansion as Kim Refuses Reasonable Offers

Kroy is ready to sell the family’s lavish Georgia home, but he claims that Kim, 45, is standing in the way. According to the former Atlanta Falcons linebacker, Kim has been rejecting reasonable offers, even as the home teeters on the edge of foreclosure.

Kroy alleges that Kim recently turned down a $3.5 million offer for the property, insisting that she would not accept anything less than $3.85 million. This decision comes despite their dire financial circumstances. The estranged couple had already lowered the asking price for the mansion to $3.95 million, but with no buyers and foreclosure looming, Kroy says Kim’s refusal to compromise could cost them everything.

Urgency Grows as Foreclosure Looms

With time running out, Kroy is taking legal action to regain control of the situation. The former NFL player has filed for an emergency hearing, requesting the court grant him full authority to sell the house without Kim’s interference. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Kroy believes that accepting the $3.5 million offer is critical to avoiding a financial catastrophe and has asked the court to remove Kim from the decision-making process entirely.

Biermann Blames Kim’s Spending for Financial Troubles

In addition to filing for control over the house sale, Kroy is pointing fingers at Kim’s spending habits, which he claims are responsible for their financial struggles. The couple is currently drowning in debt, including a $1.32 million IRS lien, a $2.2 million mortgage on the mansion, and a $250,000 home equity line of credit. They are also dealing with three attorney liens, further complicating their financial situation.

Despite the growing debt, Kroy alleges that Kim has continued to live lavishly, splurging on $400 bottles of wine, designer clothes, plastic surgery, and online gambling. He also claims that she frequently goes out on the town, spending money as though they aren’t on the verge of losing their home.

Kim’s spending, Kroy argues, is putting them at risk of financial disaster. He noted that with foreclosure approaching in October, the situation is becoming critical, and his name on the mortgage leaves him vulnerable to serious credit damage if they lose the property.

The Ongoing Foreclosure Battle

The foreclosure of the couple’s Georgia mansion has been brewing for months, and their attempts to sell the property have so far been unsuccessful. Back in April, reports surfaced that Kim and Kroy were in danger of losing the home due to missed mortgage payments. Despite their efforts to sell the house and settle their debts, the couple has been unable to find a buyer willing to meet their asking price.

Legal documents filed earlier this year indicated that Truist Bank planned to reclaim the property in a non-judicial foreclosure as early as May. Although the foreclosure process has been delayed, the threat has continued to hang over the estranged couple as they struggle to resolve their financial troubles.

Zolciak and Biermann’s Legal Troubles and Divorce Drama

While the foreclosure battle continues, Kim and Kroy’s contentious divorce is another source of stress for the former couple. The pair has been locked in a bitter legal dispute over finances and custody of their children. Kim has publicly accused Kroy of cutting off her access to their joint finances, leaving her unable to pay for basic necessities like diapers for their two youngest children.

“[Lenny] has the ability to throw lavish parties, but doesn’t have the ability or desire to provide support to [Lisa] and the parties’ two young children?” court documents from Kim read.

Kim and Kroy share four children together: 9-year-old Logan and 4-year-old Elle. The ongoing financial strain has only worsened their divorce proceedings, with both sides accusing each other of mismanagement and irresponsibility.

The Upcoming Divorce Court Date

After months of legal back-and-forth, Kim and Kroy are finally set to face off in court to finalize their divorce. The two are scheduled to appear in Fulton County Superior Court on November 5 and 6 to settle their separation. The divorce proceedings, which initially began in May, were delayed after rumors surfaced that the couple had reconciled. However, Kroy re-filed for divorce two months later, claiming that their relationship was “irretrievably broken,” and seeking sole custody of their children.

Kim has countered by requesting primary physical custody and joint legal custody. With both the foreclosure and divorce looming, it remains to be seen how the former couple will resolve their numerous disputes. For now, Kroy Biermann is hoping that by taking control of the sale of their home, he can at least salvage some of their finances before it’s too late.
