‘The Valley’ Star Jax Taylor Fully Supports Brittany Cartwright Divorcing Him!
Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright appear to be in agreement that their marriage has reached its end.
“Jax is 100 percent on board with moving forward with the divorce,” an insider exclusively told Page Six on Wednesday. The source added, “He’s been checked out from the marriage for a long time now. He just wants to have an amicable co-parent relationship.”
Brittany, 35, officially filed for divorce from Jax, 45, on Tuesday after five years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split in court documents obtained by Page Six.
While the dissolution of their marriage is “of course sad for them both because neither one of them envisioned that for themselves,” the insider noted that it was “evident they were not a good match.” The source further explained, “Their vicious cycles needed to stop for the sake of their son.”
In the court filings, Cartwright is seeking sole legal and physical custody of their 3-year-old son, Cruz, but is open to granting Taylor visitation rights.
The Valley star has reportedly kept her distance from Jax amid the separation. Brittany moved out of their shared home early in the split, which she first confirmed in February. Despite Jax’s efforts to work on himself, Brittany has not visited him recently.
Jax, who entered a mental health facility in July, has been open about his struggles.
At the time, his rep shared, “Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast. He has made the decision to seek inpatient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family.”
Though Taylor, whose real name is Jason Cauchi, has since completed treatment, Cartwright remains focused on protecting her peace.
A source told Page Six that “Brittany hasn’t seen Jax since he’s been out of treatment,” but added that “she plans to have him visit with Cruz.”
