A Source Claims ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Won’t Have A Complete Reboot
An insider has recently stirred up speculation that Vanderpump Rules could see a complete cast overhaul, potentially bringing in new faces from Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants, including TomTom and SUR.
As the Bravo reality series remains on pause before its 12th season, and after cast member James Kennedy, 32, disclosed that he hadn’t heard back from producers, rumors began to circulate that fresh faces might be interviewed for the upcoming episodes.
“I heard that everyone at TomTom and SUR have had multiple interviews with producers and Bravo because they are recasting the entire show with people who actually work at Lisa’s restaurants,” an insider shared with Deux Moi.
However, despite the buzz, another source clarified to OK! Magazine that the recasting rumors might be exaggerated. “People working at Lisa’s restaurants are always interviewed ahead of each season,” the source explained, emphasizing that this is standard procedure and not indicative of a complete cast overhaul.
The insider further noted, “Producers regularly assess who among Lisa’s staff might gel with the current cast or bring something new to the show. But it’s important for fans to understand that a total recast, like what happened with The Real Housewives of New York City, could alienate viewers who have been invested in the original cast’s lives for over a decade.”
The source added that while Lisa Vanderpump, 63, appreciates that Vanderpump Rules is tied to her business, she recognizes that viewers are more drawn to the personal lives of long-standing cast members like Lala Kent, James Kennedy, Ariana Madix, and Scheana Shay.
“People wouldn’t have the same connection to new faces,” the insider continued. “At its core, the show isn’t just about a business—it’s about this group of friends and their intertwined lives.”
The report concluded that producers are well aware that removing the existing group of friends could jeopardize the show’s future. As of now, there is no official word on when production for season 12 of Vanderpump Rules will begin.
