Erika Jayne Reflects on Marriage to Tom Girardi: ‘I Turned a Blind Eye’ to His Infidelity
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne recently opened up about her marriage to Tom Girardi.
During her August 23 appearance on the Two Ts In A Pod podcast, where she co-hosted for the first time, Erika opened up about her marriage to Tom. She revealed that she often turned a “blind eye” to his behavior, including his infidelity, in an effort to maintain a facade of perfection in both her private and public life.
“You start ignoring the snide comments or you start ignoring the fights,” Erika shared. “You just kind of want to keep the peace. I don’t know if that’s turning a blind eye. I mean, in some cases, sure. I definitely looked the other way when I knew Tom had other women in his life just because I didn’t feel like dealing with it.”
However, as time went on, Jayne’s tolerance turned into something much more corrosive. “Over time, that indifference became contempt,” she explained. “And when you have contempt in a relationship, it’s over.”
She went on to say, “I do believe that there was a lot of contempt in my relationship from both parties at the end.”
Erika also expressed how her marriage often felt sidelined, saying, “Because I often felt like my marriage was pushed to the side, and it wasn’t real. And there’s no possible way you could love this man [but] actually, I did.”
Anonymous sources have confirmed Tom’s alleged infidelity, further complicating the reasons behind their split.
Erika and Tom’s situation became complicated when Tom faced serious legal controversies, including accusations of wire fraud and stealing from clients.
The public questioned whether Erika was aware of her husband’s illegal activities, a question that has followed her throughout the legal proceedings.
To Erika’s relief, a judge ultimately ruled that she was not aware of Tom’s business dealings. However, Erika has admitted that she was aware of other morally questionable aspects of Tom’s behavior.
