Ariana Madix Defends Scheana Shay Against Social Media Comments Amid Their Rocky Friendship
Since Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules, tension has been brewing between Ariana Madix and Scheana Shay, but Ariana recently came to Scheana’s defense after some harsh online comments.
Chicago on Broadway’s official Instagram account posted a video featuring Ariana listing her summer accomplishments. In the clip, Ariana highlighted her role as host of Love Island USA, her 100-show run in Chicago on Broadway, and her appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
The video caption praised her work ethic: “One of the hardest working women we know! @arianamadix is only with us until Sept 1!”
However, not all fans were kind in the comments. One user took a jab at Scheana, writing, “I know @scheana punching the air rn cause you booked and busy lol.” Ariana quickly shut down the negativity, responding, “Let’s stop with this,” and adding a heart emoji.
The tension between Madix and Shay has been there since Season 11. Scheana admitted during the season that she felt envious when Ariana was cast on Dancing with the Stars, a role Scheana had long dreamed of. Coupled with the pressure of maintaining friendships with both Sandoval and Ariana, Scheana found herself in a difficult spot.
When Ariana appeared on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked if she and Scheana had been in contact. “Yes, here and there,” Ariana replied, acknowledging that their friendship had been strained since the reunion.
“There is a lot of love there. And I think it will always be there,” she added.
Meanwhile, Scheana took to her podcast to defend Ariana after Lala made a snarky comment, claiming that Ariana hadn’t contributed much to VPR in recent seasons. “I know Lala made a comment about Ariana just floating for a few seasons or not giving much. But I also know that Ariana was battling with depression for several years, and I think that she was giving her 100 percent,” Scheana said.
It seems there may be a path forward for Scheana and Ariana to mend their friendship.
