Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson Are ‘Closer Than Ever’ After Explosive ‘RHOC’ Fight
Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson’s recent blowout on The Real Housewives of Orange County may have appeared intense, but according to the duo, it was a necessary and ultimately healing moment in their friendship.
The argument, which unfolded during a cast trip, stemmed from Emily’s frustration over Gina’s apparent closeness with Heather Dubrow, while Gina felt that Emily was changing her behavior around Tamra Judge.
Despite the tension, the pickleball fight served as a turning point for the pair. In an exclusive interview with BravoTV, Gina and Emily opened up about how the confrontation brought them closer together.
“Sometimes you get a little jealous or a little bit, like, insecure. Friends are going to fight!” Gina explained. “But real friends, when you fight, it brings you closer.”
Although the issues between Gina and Emily were significant at the time, they were short-lived. The two have since reaffirmed their bond and moved forward.
“I think Gina and I are so close; I equate Gina with a sister, not just a friend,” Emily said. “There’s never any long-term toxicity in our relationship. We’re so important to one another that we both have the mentality that we always want to move forward and we always want to make it right.”
Emily went on to share how their friendship has a strong foundation, making it easy for them to reconcile after a disagreement. “I just saw Gina a couple days ago,” she revealed.
“I went over to her house and we sat on her couch and we ate gummy bears. [ … ] We have such a solid foundation and such a solid ground as a friendship that even when we’re mad and we’re yelling at each other it’s emotional. We’re mad and we’re yelling but we’re crying at the same time. I think it’s easy for us to come back around.”
Echoing Emily’s sentiments, Gina emphasized the depth of their connection. “Emily is one of my best friends in the entire world. I put her in another bucket. We’re sisters, we’re family, we’re ride or dies.”
With their friendship back on track, Gina is now turning her attention to mending fences with Heather Dubrow. She has also distanced herself from Katie Ginella following Katie’s conflict with Heather, indicating that there may be more work to be done in repairing other relationships within the group.
